ONLINE SPORTSBOOK Wagerweb.com OFFERS ASTROS FAN, SHAUN DEAN, $10,000 FOR HOME RUN BALLS, AND HE SAYS "NO."

The odds of catching one home run ball at a baseball game are at best slim. How about catching two home run balls in a pivotal playoff game that just happens to be the longest played in Major League Baseball history?

Well, that?s just what Shaun Dean, comptroller at Joslin Construction and longtime Astros fan, did on Sunday when he caught both Lance Berkman?s grand slam and Chris Burke's series-winning homer. The odds of catching both balls are impossible to calculate and part of the reason this has become such a big story.

"After watching it happen on TV and then reading about the story on ESPN, we were definitely interested in purchasing these historic baseballs,? says Wagerweb.com CEO Dave Johnson. ?Early reports suggested that Shaun Dean was not interested in selling them. We wanted to determine whether or not this was true. It?s not often you find a diehard sports fan who is not interested in the almighty dollar.?

Wagerweb.com, which sponsors the ?Sports Edge? radio show on Channel 122 Sirius Satellite Radio, called in to offer Dean $10,000 while he was being interviewed live this past Monday. When asked whether he would accept $10,000 for the two historic baseballs, he responded with the following: ?Nope. If the Astros want them, they can have them, but only if both (Berkman and Burke) go in my son?s room.?

It was later reported that Dean would present them to a representative of the Hall of Fame on Friday.

In exchange, the Astros are giving him four box seats for Saturday's game against St. Louis and are inviting him to the their workout on Friday, team spokesman Todd Fedewa said.

Wagerweb.com was so impressed with this true baseball fan that they will donate $2,000 in Dean?s name to Katrina relief.
