Round 1 play (4pts):
Peter Hanson to beat Chris Wood -111 @ Bet365 [also available @ Stan James, William Hill and Paddy Power]
Not sure that there is a lot of value in Hanson's odds to win this event, but he is a good player to side with in matchups and particularly this week: his last missed cut was in the PGA Championship in August and his last missed cut on the European Tour was over 10 months ago, while his record is Spain is equally impressive - he has made his last nine cuts in this country and has secured three top-10 finishes in his last five Spanish starts. By contrast, Wood has missed the cut in three of his last five events and from his five starts in Spain he has made three cuts and has a best finish of 24th with none of those starts on this course. Hanson did play when this course was used for the Mallorca Classic and was in 4th place after 54 holes last time out. With Wood having finished ahead of Hanson just once (and that was by a single shot) in the last eight months, I can't see it happening again this week.
[unofficial rd1 system plays: Lynn tb Dodt -105; Murphy tb Ramsay -125; Lucquin tb Murray -120; Cevaer tb Russo -120; Derksen tb Canizares A -111; Tunnicliff tb Parry -115; Lynn tb Dodt -105]
