Oregon St -10 over Temple.
Like the Beavers to win one on the road and cover. Both teams played easy teams last week. Both won big.Temple struggled with Richmond leading just 13-7 at half. But some defensive TD's changed the game.Temple's D scored 21 of their 34 pts. They had a hard time scoring in the Red zone.
Owls run a new offense. No huddle, spread, one back, etc.McGann their QB was 18-31 and threw 2 TD's and 3 ints.TU has a good RB in Sharp and decent WR's.OL is big and solid. But this new offense will take time to develop.
Owl defense is a problem.Klecko is a stud. All BE.He sat out the Richmond game with a sprain. He will play tomr. They play a 4-2-5 defense. But some BE teams put some numbers on them lyr.I think this is there weakness. And ORU should be able to move the ball vs them.
ORU has an excellent defense. One of the best in the PAC-10.They are athletic and have a lot of speed.DL is above avg.with a stud in Manning. Barnett and Siegler are outstanding LB's.Their DB's are all greyhounds.Weathersby is a great CB.Their pass defense is rated one of the best.
On offense they have an underated QB in Anderson. At 6'6 he is going to have a good season. He threw for 345 yds vs a weak E.Kentucky.But he has been tested in the Pac-10.He has some studs as Wr's in Newson and Farley. And Jackson could have a breakout season at RB.He gained 141 yds lweek but had 131 vs USC and ran on a 63 yd scamper vs UCLA lyr.He has power and speed.OL is OK.
Trends in this game go both ways.ORU is 1-6 ats on road openers,TU is 1-7 as double digits HD's.Both teams looked a little sloppy and had a lot of penalties.TU opponent was a little better.
Erickson is a pretty solid coach. The no huddle and spread should not bother the beavers since they don't sub on defense.
ORu's defense should stop the Temple O and Temples defense will have trouble containing Anderson and his WR's corp and Jackson.
Both play on artificial turf. The speed and athletisism of the Beavers will give them a 2 TD victory.
