YTD 17-18 -5.5 coming off of a horrible week

Its tough to bet against Akron at home. As a season ticket holder I have seen the Zips go 41-2 since coach Keith Dambrot took the job 4 years ago. Both losses were to NCAA tourney teams, Kent State and last year to Nevada who was #11 in the nation when they came in and beat Akron by a bucket. This is not the same Zips of Travis and Joyce era however. The numbers have been alarming from this team thus far. 29% from beyond the arc and 60% from the stripe demonstrate the problems that the Zips have had in shooting the ball. In comparison, last years edition of the Zips shot a fine 40% from 3 pt. land. Also alarming is that the Zips have been getting out rebounded and the assist to turnover has gone to hell after having great numbers when Joyce was at the point. The Zips basically have a point guard by committee going right now. Red shirt freshman Mc Nees appears to be best suited for the job but he can't defend quick guards and is more of a shooter than a guy who can make slick assists. Until highly touted freshman Steward is healthy things just are not likely to get a whole lot better for Akron. Coach Dambrot said it best the other day when he stated " we are in survival mode right now, we won't be playing our best ball untill mid january"

A lot of guys are on Temple tonight and for good reason. I'm playing this game for 10 units and it would be more had temple not been on the road for so damn long. Also the Owls 25 point collapse vs. C of C is a concern. Still Tyndale and Christmas are a high powered duo who should get the job done tonight. The only scenario that I can see getting Akron a victory tonight would be from an exceptional 3 pt shooting barrage, and it hasn't happened yet this season. Tread lightly, as I've been ice cold for a week now.

Temple +4' 8 units
Temple ML +177 2 units
