OZ or the Sopranos?

Which show do you like better? My money has to go with the Sopranos. OZ was OK its first season, but in the past few seasons they've had WAY TOO MUCH homo shit for me to stomach. It seemed as if each episode turned into one big cock party.

I came to the conclusion that HBO for some reason started trying to steal the Queer As Folk audience since it aired at the same time.

Sopranos is definately better, although OZ is a good show. I totally agree with you, there is too much dick in that show. I always have the meat blockers ready when I watch. A lot of HBO originals are good, Sex in the City also good, but Sopranos is a easy #1.

I like OZ more only because I have been following it from the very first season. The Sopranos is a great show, but I'm not aware of a lot of the past plots so it makes it harder to get into...for me personally at least. OZ does show too much dick and such, but it makes it more realistic I guess.

How about Sex & the City. It's a chick show but I laugh my ass off at it all the time. On occasion you'll get a tit shot here and there, too.

I doubt Oz is that realistic. If there was really an inmate murder every single day, it seems like our inmate population would be moving down, not up.

And is anything more overrated than Sex and the City? I'm sorry, but it's just not funny. It's almost like a tv show made out of a romantic comedy. Plenty of relationship stuff for the chicks, but never anything really funny.

I think I stopped watching OZ when I saw Luke Perry's genitals. Pretty much turned into gay porn with a plot. I'm not so sure what prison is like but the more I watch the show the more I feel like I'm gonna wind up with a dick in my ass. The thought of penis doesn't disturb me too much, but anytime OZ is on and they show penis, my phone immediately rings and Bluemound Freak begins his heavy breathing. Ha! j/k

Band of Brothers is another good one.

Arliss and that Curb Your Enthusiam put me to sleep. While I doubt OZ is a 100% accurate in its portrayal of prison ongoings, it's still entertaining. If anyone that frequents this forum has been to prison and would care to comment on how accurate or inaccurate OZ is, dont' be shy. Throw it down.

About all the gay crap and nudity in OZ...if you're a guy you certainly don't want to gawk at that shit and measure up against the likes of Luke Perry. I don't see that big of a deal with it unless you're homophobic and can't handle it. In which case, you might really like it and you're pretending to not like it, if that makes any sense. If you do like it, that's fine. To each his own. For the sake of keeping the thread peaceful, I'm not calling anyone in here gay or homophobic. Just throwing in my 2 pennies. I like the Sopranos, but I wish we didn't have to wait 10 years between seasons...

As far as Oz goes, I watch it when nothing else is on. I work as a Correction Officer and it is not even close to reality. I wouldn't even know where to begin, because most of the stuff is so far fetched it's not even funny. So many murders I don't know how the warden keeps his job. They constantly keep putting people in the same cell block who keep fighting each other or have major issues with each other. For the most part stuff like that just doesn't happen...:shrug:

Part of the excitement generated by Sopranos is that they make us wait so flippin' long to see it every year. I have heard that it may be another 9-12 months before we see it, because, since it will no doubt be final year, everybody wants things just right. It is a great show with plenty of t and a making it that much better. Had a good friend from Brooklyn who was into that life and I can tell you that their dress, language, etc. is a match for the real deal. Sound track is also first class. Like a few others, I think Curb Your Enthusiasm is one of the funniest shows ever. But it is quirky enough to make some people wonder what is funny. Same Brooklyn buddy says Oz bears very little resemblance to real life behind bars - but much of it is accurate, just blown way out of proportion. As far as Queer As Folk goes - how can you watch that if you aren't just a little gay? I know that is politically incorrect, but.........

about Sopranos Vs OZ. Thought the first two seasons of OZ were great-- probably due to the fact that nothing like that had been done on TV before. This new season is only two episodes old, and it sucks, IMO. You think its a bad gay sex soap opera now, just wait until Chris Keller gets back to OZ and he and Toby can pick up where they left off. Yuck!
Really liked the first season of Six Feet Under. Weird, strange twisted people in that one....
