Cal Ripken?

If not Jeter.

Ozzie had the better glove but his shortcomings at the plate cancel that out.

So. Cal
jeter at the plate, and it's not even close

ozzie in the field, and it's not even close

guess it depends on the rest of your team....if you have hitters and strikeout/flyball pitchers....gimmie ozzie

if you need hitting , gimmie jeter

If I needed a floor gymnast for the olympics it would be ozzie.
Ozzie is still one of my fav. shortstops.
If I needed a complete shortstop it would be jeter.
They're probably the 2 nicest and most popular ball players ever to play baseball.

really depends on what era of baseball you are playing in: today's game jeter back when scores would be 4-2 5-2 4-3 type scores defense was worth more towards your team it would be the wizzard. ripken can easily hold his own defensively with jeter and I think was better hitter but let's face it Jeter is clutch.

Young ss's that are amazing are Hanley Ramirez for Florida has it all and my favorite player right now is Troy Tulowitski (rockies fan) he has amazing range and bazooka for an arm if he can just start hitting year in and year out he will be damn good

Not even close IMO. I look at it this way, which would I take if I was a GM and both were in their prime. Jeter by a landslide, great clutch hitter and more importantly the best nonvocal leader there is in the game. Ozzie was much better defensively, but that is it. Also agree with some others, I would take Ripken over Ozzie as well
