Okay.

Oregon run over by BYU
Arizona St. gets hammered by the Rainbows in the second half.

These were mid level Pac ten teams and they frankly got the chit beat out of em. The question now is do we fade UCLA, USC, Cal and Oregon St.

And while we're at it, give credit to the Mountain West and Wac. The WAC still has 2 games left so there may be value in Nevada and Boise.

Mountain West always gets up for the bowls -- bunch of solid teams that fly under the radar.

Not good showing for the Pac Ten so far, but don't know if I'd lump USC and UCLA into that mix, both have a ton of talent.

So Cal
It is so stupid to draw conclusions for an entire season based on one game that is played a month or more after the regular season ends. Everyone can pick one game out of the regular season that would make any conference appear pitiful. It makes no sense to draw a conclusion based on a bowl game. If you followed football you would have known that Oregon and BYU were teams going in opposite directions. BYU was rolling over most opponents, albeit weaker teams, but winning impressively. Oregon, on the other hand, was going to hell in a handbasket. Wasn't much of a surprise there. But how would you have played that game if it was in week 2 or week 3? As for Arizona State, they had a lame duck coach and played terribly inconsistently all year. Sometimes teams will play for a lame duck coach, sometimes not. Arizona State was really not a particularly strong game and keep in mind that it was a home game for Hawaii in the first place. Same thing occurred in the Vegas Bowl where huge majority of fans were from BYU.

I am not making excuses for Pac 10. Just think it is ludicrous to base the strength of a conference on a bowl game. Maybe I am wrong and you should go against all the PAC 10 teams.

So. Cal
Been saying it for years now....the PAC is highly overrated.

yep, totally overrated

a 3 point dog and an 8 point dog....both basically playing road games....somehow managed to lose.

THE HORROR

both of those teams were going to get thumped and did....no shocker here.

just read in the local paper that duke plans to start scheduling pac ten games in hopes of breaking their losing streak.

Now we can't they were underdogs to the Great BYU and Hawaii anymore. Now we can say that they got beat by the worst Fla St team in 20 years. I'm taking Missouri and gonna ride this trend until somebody from the Pac 10 stands up.l

I couldn't disagree more. If a conf. is getting blown-out, i.e.The Pac-10. That is info you need as a gambler. If you think it will all even out, I think your wrong. You would need to sweep the rest of the way. Calif. maybe. But I think Oreg. St. gets killed and USC goes down as well. Good Luck thought.

Fluidoz,

I'm with you and Cal looks like a major fade to me. No excuses any more as UCLA was hot coming in to post season and lost to a pussilanamous Florida State team. Let's put it this way, Pac 10 will not be winning the Bowl Challenge Cup!:mj07: :mj07:

Add to that a 4 pt chalk team, playin in state to a crappy FSU team that hung 44 on the best D in the PAC 10.

What a joke of a conference. :mj07:

duke has their version of an sec football schedule....it's just that's it's in basketball where they play in durham, and then travel to raleigh and chapel hill......and play "neutral site" games in charlotte and will rarely ever travel to play in a hostile environment vs a quality opponent.

2 of the pac-10 games thus far went as expected....blowouts for asu and oregon....that is not shocking, anyone on oregon and asu needs to evaluate their handicappig skills.

ucla was a toss up but thought they should beat fsu

cal-osu-usc were the three best teams and are still to come......i thought 3-3/4-2 at best would be the conf record in bowl game and 3-3 is still doable, although it's looking bleak.

The Pac ten has showed me nothing
and yes I should judge how they play in these bowls because these are pride games against other conferences...

USC is good (they willl lose to Michigan)
Reminds me of the free pass FSU had a few years ago when they were never great but played in a piss poor ACC .. now that BC VT and Miami are in Viola FSU is playing at its true level (sans yesterdays performance)

I'm not trying to defend the Pac 10. Bowl games do not indicate the strength of a conference because you are picking one game at one time of the season rather than reflect on the season as a whole.

Interesting to note all the experts here who are already handing the Rose Bowl to Michigan due to the weakness of the Pac 10. Hope you back it up with money.

This is probably going to be the best bowl game and anyone who categorically states that Michigan will beat USC is nuts - and vice versa. I will point out something that PAC 10 haters and Big 10 lovers have left out.

USC out of conference
Beat Arkansas 50-14
Beat Nebraska 28-10
Beat Notre Dame 44-24

Those are 3 fair teams I suppose. Michigan also beat ND but their OOC schedule included perennial top 25 teams such as Vanderbuilt, Central Michigan and Ball State.

Either team can win and it will have nothing to do with what conference they play in.

I could give 2 hoots about this hoopla but what does OOC schedule have to do with the Pac 10 not showing up for there first 3 bowls?????

I do like Cal tonite however

So Cal
I love Cal tonight!
The line has dropped to -3

If you thought ASU & Oregon would win there bowl games you're likely from Az or Oregon.

IMO it was very obvious to bet against both teams . ASU just wanted to get the season over with...and we all know why.
Oregon ran into a "smoking hot" BYU team that had a 9 game win streak coming into the game.

Pac10 will win the rest of it's bowl games.
Cal will handle A&M easily
Oregon St will crush Missouri.
USC beats Michigan by 14+
