According to reports in the media, the ticket price for Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez will not be cheap. If you want to witness the November 12th boxing match in person at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, you'll need to dish out big money.

According to a report in the Manila Bulletin, the tickets which will go on sale sometime in August will cost from $200 to $1200.

At these prices, once again I strongly believe the true Boxing fan is being counted out. How many of us can afford or want to spend that kind of money on tickets at that price? My best guess is that most of us will buy the Pay-per-view instead.
Arum, that greedy old prick, is once again raping the public. I truly hope his cash cow Pacquiao gets beat, though many consider that possibility remote.

Does Arum even have a say in ticket prices or is that up to MGM?

Well, I thought of that also. The MGM has to charge enough to make a profit and pay the tons of expenses it takes to put on an event in the Grand Garden Arena. I've been there many times. Last time for Guerrero-Katsidis. The boxers also figure in the price as certain guys command more money(Pacquiao). But from what I can gather regarding Bob Arum's approach to the whole thing, he will hit the fans over the head whenever possible. To answer your question, everybody has a say in prices, but I truly feel Arum will push it as far as he can to stick in the fight fans tush. He wants practically EVERY freakin fight to be PPV. He said it himself.
