Patience and Discipline

In sportsbetting, we often hear this phrase bandied about, but what are the rewards and why?

To a newcomer, I'm probably the first to offer money management advice saying things like "Patience and discipline are very important. It's a marathon, not a sprint."

Yet, I'm also the first to ignore my own advice.

On any given Saturday during college football, there are 50+ games on the card with 13 different starting times, ranging from noon to midnite.

My handicapping method may reveal 3 solid plays.

Could I bet only those plays and be content?

Probably not. My track record shows this to be a "definite" NO.

Why not?

Is the lure of the "action" to great to resist?

At 3 plays per card, I'd like to think I'm pretty good.

At 4-6, there seems to be a big drop in the bell curve.

With a 50+ game card and action all day long, how do you use patience and discipline?

Do you think patience and discipline applies to both MM and betting strategies or one more than the other?
