I've recovered from last weeks 0-2 debacle and cranked up the system for the first week of the AFL Finals. It did surprise me that it finds 3 of the 4 games as eligible selections when it rarely finds that many in 8 weekend games. They are as follows...
Essendon +7.5 v Fremantle
A full strength Bombers outfit travels across the country to take on Freo in their first ever finals match. Did they play their final cards last week in that amazing tough clash with West Coast? Do they have any juice left in the tank? Are they capable of any more? Can Essendon overcome their attrocious interstate record of 1-9 from their last 10? Essendon know all about up tempo finals footy and they are coming to play a physical brand.
I reckon you should toss a coin!! :shrug:
West Coast +25.5 v Adelaide
The Coasters injuries concern me here though Adelaide's form of late has been poor. If it's wet then I think it is worth the play.
Brisbane +5.5(!) v Collingwood
Getting a points start with the reigning champs versus a team that they hammered by 39 just 4 weeks ago at the same ground is fine with me. Collingwood are a 'contender', but they are 3rd in line behind Brisbane and Port. Pies have been running hot lately but the Lions have the psychological edge and should remind them of their roll in the grand scheme of things.
I don't know yet whether I'll play all of these. Perhaps just 10% of the bankroll on each. I'll have a good look at the teams and the weather and sleep on it.
