Season to date: 18.5 - 14.5 @ 56% ----- Bank = $9,506 @ 118.8%
Well the ol' girl has struggled over the last month since it peaked at $18,925 and 236% from start. Dropping 4 of its last 5 selections has killed my bankroll and pretty much wasted my seasons efforts. High risk....high gain, flying like an eagle one week....feather duster the next!!!!
Now the system has one final play in the biggest game of the year and I've got nothing to lose by playing it for the usual 20% stake. Playing.....
Brisbane Lions straight up versus Collingwood Magpies
$1,000 @ $1.95 returning $1,950
$901 1-39 points @ $2.40 returning $2,162
Now last time they played a few weeks ago in the Qualifying Final, Brissy's superstar captain Voss went down with an injury during the first quarter and the Lions struggled in the second half to score much. With Collingwood running rampant and eventually winning by 15 points. Sure it should have been more but it wasn't.
Voss was back the following week against Adelaide and had a major influence in 'lifting' his team mates to an impressive victory. Last week against Sydney he was quiet but the rest of the team steamrolled the Swans in the final quarter. I'm expecting both Voss and Akermanis to lift for this one. The chance to go down in history with a triple premiership 'three-peat'.
Tonight, Anthony Rocca's tribunal appeal was a failure and he will be watching this game from the stands. This is a major blow to the Magpies as he can break games apart with his influence and it throws their forward / ruck plans into disarray. He is a BIG loss!![Big grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Happy to have the reigning champs as underdogs once again in a close finish.
Brisbane to make history.......Collingwood left to cry as the bridesmaids two years running.
(or else it'll be me crying while throwing beer cans at the tv!!)
So lets blow the whistle one last time for 2003 and get this beaten up old tin can rollin' down the tracks on her final trip. Here's hoping it reaches CHA-CHING station for one last chance to cash.......
