I heard something on the radio the other day that I thought was a joke, but apparently isn't. According to Sporting News Radio, several networks have told their broadcasters to avoid words/phrases like "blitz", "aerial attack", "sack" or any references to war. Do they really think the public is so stupid they can't differentiate between a football "war" and a real war? SO get ready to hear "Wright is being chased and taken down for a yardage loss of 10 yds" or "Baltimore is sending all their linebacker positional players after the quarterback". Next, they will lobby to change the name of the New York AFC football team. Ironically, the people they will be making these changes for are probably not going to be people turning into NFL broadcasts. IMO, this has gone way too far.
