I've been playing this system for most of the year. It's been very profitable so figured I would start sharing. System plays lots of dogs so if you're hitting at a .500 clip it's profitable. If anyone wants to know how the system works, I will share.

Stats thus far:
51-51
+985

Today's plays:
Avs +152
Flyers +105 - Both started already. Will not count in record.
Hurricanes +150
Panthers +185
Sharks -140
Kings -140

Here's the theory: At the end of the season, each team's combined save % and shooting % should be right around 1. So, if you're currently above 1, you are overachieving. If you're below, underachieving. The games to play are chosen when one team below 1 is playing a team above 1 and there is a big enough difference between the 2. Hope that makes any sense. Any example for one of tonight's game below...

Team S% SV% PDO Diff
Pit .097 .929 1.026 .056
Fla .067 .903 .970

BTW, don't ask me what PDO means. It's derived from some website that introduced me to the theory. Even they don't know what it stands for

I'm certainly in no position to critique your system since I haven't handicapped in years, but I wonder if the system is more accurate the closer the teams are to the middle of the standings.

In the case of the game you gave as an example, you have the second best team in the league and the absolute worst team in the league. Seems like there would be a big disparity when that kind of matchup is presented.

Now, in no way would I ever say PIT is a lock in a case like this (especially considering the injuries they currently have), but I find it hard to bet on the worst team in the league against a powerhouse like PIT.

penguinfan, I agree 100%. I do not expect the Pens to lose to the Panthers. But the system has proven numerous times that unexpected teams will win once in a while. Look at the Avs this afternoon! When you've got a system, you've gotta stick with it. The good thing is, they're huge dogs so it really doesn't cost too much.

...and those dogs are the ones that usually make up for the winnings in the end...:popcorn2

I forgot to mention that somehow this system has lost almost every overtime/shootout game this season. It's crazy! Yet another OT game last night cost us from making money.

Tonight:
Blue -132.

Thanks canuckfan! The system has been hot recently. Sad to see the season winding down. Not sure how much longer this system will be in play with games meaning less and less. Will stick with it though!

Last night: 1-0 +130

Season: 60-57, +1,495.

Tonight: Nothing.
