Okay guys,

After snooping and pooping around here in Nittany land for quite some time now, I have my ears to the ground always picking up tidbits.

This is homecoming week for the PSU Nittany Lions.
School Spirit is mildly average.
Numerous reports in the local papers the past two weeks have shown that the fans are severely disappointed in the football team thus far as Papa Joe has YET to make a decision on who is full time starters are going to be. Even more importantly, there have been a rash of articles on the school paper and local papers about the football team being upset at the lack of total fan support claiming If they dont care, why should we?
Things do not bode well in PSU Land!

For anyone wondering whatever has happened to QB Zack Mills who was supposed to be the next big thing up here with all his passing records from high school and skills appearing last year...
He had repairs done on his throwing arm in the off season and this season he has had to grip the ball differently in order to not put more undue strain on his arm. In essence, he still has not learned to throw this new way and it has been seriously affecting his speed and accuracy of balls thrown to receivers.
He is STILL not accustomed to this new throwing technique and continues to struggle and has admitted that.

The under classmen on the team still continue to receive no support from the coaches in seeing playing time, as the staff would rather play the less talented seniors to the more talented underclassmen. This will hold especially true in this game since it is homecoming.
In my humble opinion from everything I see and hear on a daily basis, many have already given up on this team, from the fans to the players and look for them to go the rest of the season with mediocre performances.

I have not even looked at the line for this game vs WI, but if I were a bettin man, I would take Wisky and lay at least 6 points.

Marine, on paper Wisconsin should win this game by 2 touchdowns. How can Minnesota be a 3 pt. favorite and Wisconsin only be a pickem. Wisky should be able to control the game on the ground just like Nebraska did. 74 rushes, psu could not stop them Wisky should dominate both sides of the ball on the lines.Paterno is getting blasted this week with chants of "joe must go", he publicly ripped linebacker Derrick Wake which he never does and lashed out at the media. He did announce Robinson as the starting QB. I was all over Wisconsin untill I seen this line of pickem:scared . With Ohio State up next week for Wisconsin and Paternos back against the wall on homecoming weekend. I'll probobly lay off this game although my gut feeling is Penn State gets smoked. This team just doesn't have the talent to compete in the big 10 this year.By the way Marine I'll be downtown for the parade Friday night if you want to hook up for a beer at "THE SKELLAR":drinky: :toast:

marine...

robinson will start this week at qb. i actually like psu alot. started a post earlier in the week and will add to it the reasons for playing them as soon as i get the time. this O responded once robinson stepped on the field last week. receivers ran harder, oline played harder. they all like the change. he threw the ball well and adds a running dimension that mills couldn't. mills had NO confidence to do anything. you could see it, and so could his team. they spotted minny 14 points before mills went down, and they almost fought back. i think with the solid week of practice and michael at the helm will show large this week. again, nothing ever a sure thing, but i like psu to win outright.

good luck to you.

Bobmac,

You from around here? I will be walking in the parade with the VFW float. I will be the guy wearing the army/navy football t-shirt. I shy away from the skellar because I am past the stage of standing shoulder to shoulder packed in the house with drunk college kids. I prefer cafe west 210. Sit out on the front porch, but now itsa lil colder so i gotta find a new hangout.

stop in and see me if you are around... 234 college ave.

...if you think you can hang with the real beer drinkers.

As for the ohio state tix, if you find me tonite, we can talk about getting you tix for that. I have a pretty good social roster up here for tix to all the games.
