I see that majority of people are on the under in this game...Tech runs a fast pace spread offense...lots of points..lots of yards...

any insight?

Weather????

Weather????

I'm just about right in the middle of you (Toledo) and Stinkville (Columbus). We've been hit hard by storms here in the Youngstown area all day Friday and it's supposed to carry on through Saturday. Maybe that's why people are banging the under????

Although Tech may bring it through the air, OSU is supposed to have a tough defense. Doss and Nickey will get tested in this one. Also, OSU's offense will be bland. Their inexperience coupled with their conservative coach could keep the total down.

hellah:

"if OSU just gets 17 points..that over will hit"

...so you're calling for the upset? Maybe I missed something here.

well i wouldnt call this an upset...otherwise the spread would be alot more...ISU over FSU is an upset...Tech is expected to have a winning record this year...that spread offense KILLS some teams....i mean the last time they faced something like that was Northwestern...but they didnt have players suspended

OK. Guess I just wasn't following on the math. To go over 48 or so, AND for OhioSt to cover -6, doesn't OhioSt have to score 27+ or so?

No problem. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. GL w/ your plays. Enjoy your insights.

BTW, hellah, you seem to have a pretty good handle on some of these teams/matchups. Can sometimes find some decent prop plays on these gms. Tonite, played Fresno's 1st TD would NOT be a rushing TD(+128), b/c I knew their rushing gm was questionable. Just something to think about.

I haven't decided on what to do with the total but one thing is for sure, I've watched a bunch of Texas Tech games & they can play some good defense & handle themselves in a defensive struggle without having to put up 30 points.

Ive only played 1 prop play in CFB...that was last year...it was during the Bama and some other team..I forget...anyways..it was storming like crazy....so I took longest TD UNDER 43 yards

Ohio St faced two variations of the spread offense last season, Purdue and Northwestern. They spanked both of them and neither team had any type of sustained offense...OSU's team defense was too strong and fast for both of them. Purude scored 9pts, Northwestern 20pts which included two garbage TD's in the fourth quarter when they were down 38-7.

Tech is going to dink and dunk with short passes...I don't think they will have much success agains this type of defense.

I got the under 50 at SIA on monday and still like the under as low as 47. Had a small write up in my picks thread but also I keep looking back to the bowl game where Iowa held Tech to a very low score. I read at another site the Ohio St coach has been talking to the Iowa coach about that very thing. Think OSU runs the ball alot until the QB jells w/ his recievers.

I do remember the Northwestern game....and I had NW and lost. One thing with the NW game...NW cannot tackle. They couldnt simply tackle...and with NW they were run first all the way. Tech is not run first....OSU had liek one of the best rush Ds in the nation last year...the biggest key to that game last year was 1 man....JOE COOPER. People were so scared to run to his side...so many games I watched where they would run opposite of where he is being lined up at. This year...no Joe Cooper..hell nobody even close to Joe Cooper talent. I mean look at how short these drives were.....Look at that...not 1 TD took loner then 2 minutes and 11 seconds...thats a sign of a WEAK ass defense. NWs D was more then terrible...I clearly remember that game 2 TOs 1 ran back..the other setup for a score. They couldnt wrap up and tackle....it was piss poor.

Ohio State

Ohio State

the game is a big credibilty statement for Tressel and the program. They get all the big recruits and all the publicity and yet Tressel has this reputation for ultra conservative play calling. The whole season for the Buckeyes rests on this one game. If they struggle... their confidence will be shaken.

I think Texas Tech will try to surprise the Buckeyes with their spread offense, but somehow i think the Buckeyes size and home field advantage will overcome.

Ohio State will win... and should cover late in the 2nd. half.
