For the few Jackers that were lucky enough to had contact with him here on MadJacks...


Jose passes away Feb. 7, at 65, just months after being diagnosed with Stage 1 lung cancer.

Although I never met him and felt that we were friends both here at Jacks and elsewhere.

We met on the old AOL boards

Jose joined the U.S. Army and served our nation honorably for six years. Jose, also known as Pepe, was a gregarious and generous person who easily made friends.

He loved to reminisce about Cuba, play the markets and the slots, follow football, and would eagerly engage in a conversation about monetary policy, politics, and various other topics.

Jose had a brilliant mind and was largely self-taught. Jose had an independent and entrepreneurial spirit. He owned and operated several small businesses in his lifetime.

Jose worked hard to provide for his family and was always there when needed.

He will be missed tremendously.

Although I didn't know Pepin as well as Lanny did, I also knew him for a few years via the net....I always enjoyed our back & forth banter....RIP Pepin....
