Perfect Example Why BCS Doesnt Work

Tonight was a perfect example of how the BCS is broken and doesnt work. Oregon had no business being out there playing for a National Championship. Auburn played terrible tonight and still won a BCS Title. If Cam had showed up, Auburn would have beat the Ducks by 20+ points. The SEC is superior and far more difficult than any other conference in the country, especially the Pac-10. 13-0 in the Pac-10 is equal to 10-3 in the SEC. At least 3 SEC teams (Auburn, LSU, Alabama) could/would have beaten Oregon tonight. If they arent going to allow a playoff and continue with this BCS bullshit then they need to start ranking SEC teams on a curve. I dont care if Oregon is undefeated or not, they could have gone 15-0 in Pac-10 this year. It wouldnt change the fact that they are not the second best team in the country. Anyone who disagrees with me can just look at the numbers over the past 7 or 8 years. In this bowl season alone Alabama, LSU, and Mississippi State demolished what was supposedly their equal/formidable opponents from the Big 10 and the Big 12. The talent, coaches, schedules in the SEC are far superior and the battles fought every Saturday during the season are much more difficult than the games played in the other BCS conferences throughout the year. All of that should be taken into consideration when ranking the SEC schools vs. non SEC schools. Its to the point now where if you make it through the entire SEC season undefeated and win the SEC championship, you shouldnt even have to play in the National Championship. They should just go ahead and give them the BCS trophy after the SEC championship game because its a foregone conclusion who the victor will be. This SEC domination and separation is only increasing every year. Now along with the National Championship, the SEC is producing the Heisman Trophy winner as well. Not acknowledging this and taking this into consideration when ranking the teams during and at the end of the year is just wrong and unfair. Non SEC fans and dissenters, it is what is. The facts/numbers speak for themselves.

the pac 10 drops to 13-10 vs the sec and 13-4 in bcs bowl games.......that conf doesnt belong!

overall, the pac-10 and the sec are the two best conf and arent that different.

OMG, you're totally right. Next year in addition to ranking every team in the SEC in the top 10 everyone who votes in the AP and Coaches Poll should have to get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ass of every player in the SEC. In fact, can we just disband the rest of division I football? I mean, what's the point in watching obviously inferior football?

Dude, what are you ranting about? The SEC won tonight . . . again. The SEC are champs for the4 5th year in a row! But you're not content that the BCS is crowning the correct #1, you're upset that they got #s 2 - 10 wrong? The BCS does suck but not for the reasons you give (and I'm being charitable in crediting your SEC masturbatorial fantasy rant with having reasons). Or is all this about you wanting an Auburn-Alabama rematch in the championship game? Or any other team from the SEC? Yeah, let's make Auburn have to beat a team from it's own conference twice (possibly 3 times). Yeah, that's fair.

Some (not all) of these SEC fans have the worst case of "little brother" syndrome I've ever seen. You act like the SEC gets no respect, when they get nothing but respect. They were the public favorite in pretty much every bowl this season! Yet you guys seem obsessed with talking about how every other team in the country would fare so much worse in the SEC.

But thanks for the "ranking on a curve" comment. Haven't laughed that hard in a while.

And finally, congrats on your 10-0 record in bowl games this season. Oh that's right, you were 5-5.

SEC is best conference top to bottom no doubt.

but this argument gets old honestly. I have read hundreds of threads just past couple weeks, all discussing the same thing: Is the SEC the best conference. Answer: of course they are right now.

SEC in national champs, has better athletes, better coaches, and overall just better talent all over.

but honestly why constant reminders from people. Just be done with it. I am big 10 homer, and i admit your superior.

So what if ppl disagree? Those people who disagree are probably the same people who have a hard time distinguishing the difference from a sneeze and a wet fart. Really wasting your time. People who know footbal realize where the most talent is. You cant deny the results.

Let it go.

On a serious note, Pennstate would run through the SEC.

you're right. Should have been TCU vs Stanford.

Just stating the facts. You think I wanted Auburn to win tonight? I was praying that Oregon would win. I loathe Auburn! Now I get to listen to all my Auburn friends and coworkers and the jackass Auburn fans that call in to local radio shows gloat and rub it in for the next year. The unthinkable happened tonight and its going to be miserable until September. Thats why Im so pissed at those frauds from Oregon. Seeing as how you horned frogs are the same size and run the same gimmick high school offense Im quite sure the result would have been the same if TCU were playing tonight instead of Oregon.:0074

You guys and Boise State can cry about how unfair it is all you want. You dont play good teams every weekend. You play in a mediocre conference and schedule 1 maybe 2 non conference teams that are good, go undefeated and think you deserve to play in the National Championship. It doesnt work that way. You gotta earn it. Go get in a real conference like the SEC, Big 10 or Big 12 and go undefeated and then we will see. Big East by the way should not be a BCS conference, not deserving of that privilege. The best they can produce is a 7-4 UConn team. :mj07:

Yeah, Pennstate did a great job running through Tuscaloosa this year. I was there and it was honestly sad and pathetic. Your coach looked confused and feeble on the sideline. I hadnt realized how much he has aged in the last few years until I saw him that night. Saban called off the dogs on Pennstate because of his respect for Paterno. He didnt want to embarrass him. Had he not eased off that game would have been 38-3. It wasnt even a matchup, just looking at PSU players standing near the UA players before the game started it was obvious what was going to happen. The difference in not only the size of the players but the overall muscular build was huge. Like a Varsity vs. JV game. I feel for PSU fans, yall have got a major dilemma with your coach, tough decisions. No matter what one side will get shafted in the end. Paterno is a class act and a coaching legend but he's holding yall back and its time for him to gracefully step down and hand it over to some new blood.

Where it is real F ing COLD
Yeah Auburn was the better team tonight but still almost lost.. Oregon had it's chances too. What if Cam showed up tonight? Auburn wins by 20 plus.

What if Oregon's shitty red zone play calling would of been much better.. What if oregon's players came to play.. I mean Oregon had em jumped in the beginning. What if they played great from the start.. Lots of what ifs.. Weather how good or bad you think Oregon is they deserved to be there and almost won.

LSU was a good team but don't brag about Mississippi state pounding a shitty Michigan team. That shouldn't even be a bowl game..

Dont knock TCU and Boise for there schedules... I hate Boise but it seems to me is that nobody will take a chance adn schedule em. Boise was not afraid to go out and play at Va Tech so I dont think they would turn many down..

Very true and very annoying.

Do either of you actually know what little brother syndrome is?
When one person feels they have a rivalry with another far superior person. The superior person usually doesn't know about it or feel that the little brother is any kind of a threat.

Seeing as how my school won the National Championship last year, and won 13 since its inception, oh an also won more bowl games than any other college team in history I would say we would be the Superior program in the Superior conference. TCU on the other hand would be the little brother. I know yall are butt hurt over the SEC's domination in recent years but try not to misdiagnose anyone with syndromes where you are unclear of their meaning.

Wow. Did anyone actually watch the game? "If Cam showed up"... MAYBE, it had something to do with Oregon pounding him a bit? MAYBE if Oregon had showed up they would have won by 20? Safety. No score from 1st and Goal. Red Zone Int... They played it on the field and Auburn won, they certainly did not dominate and certainly could have LOST...

That being said, the SEC is the best conference, but I would LOVE to see a Florida or Auburn have to play AT Ohio State or AT Wisconsin in November with single digits on the thermometer and see those "Athletes"... There is a REASON the Big 10 has so many players playing on Sunday folks... It's not all about Domes and 70 degrees.

But I guess in college it is...

Here's a fact.....SEC Super Team needed a last second FG to beat a supposedly inferior team. Saying Auburn played badly is an excuse. They are how they played...same goes for Oregon. In your heads, nobody else in college football matters yet your conference went 5-5. Get a life.
