Sportsacumen dont have ability to place bets online for their spreads....only for their fixed odds. You would need to ring a spread bet thru, but they do have a toll free number for overseas clients and should be open 24/7.

Obviously these are markets for the 2nd round match bets. In the Tim Clark/Briny Baird match the market is 2 - 5. If you wanted to support Clark you would buy him at 5 (or if you wanted to support Baird you would sell at 2...that is, recieve a 2 point premium).

Let's say you liked Clark, and bought at 5 for $5. Clark beat Baird by 6 strokes. The result is then calculated by 10 points for the win, and 3 points for every stroke they win by. Thus, a 6 stroke win tranlates to a final "makeup" of 28 points (10 + 6*3). You paid 5 points for your exposure to Clark, so your net result is a 23 point win(28 less 5). Multiply this by your stake of $5 and you have won $115.

If you had placed $5 on Baird you would have lost $130 (makeup is 28, less the 2 point premium you received, and multiplied by $5).

Its a volatile form of beting because you cannot know for sure what your exposure is (although they cap the results at 55 points). But of course they can work for you as well as against you.

Hope that is of some help.
