This is the type of game the Eagles tend to win in the Andy Reid era -- on the road against an up and coming opponent but someone that is not on their level just yet.

McNabb plays well in domes generally and they run the screens often with success on the fast track.

The letdown factor is a fear but the game that scares me more is in two weeks when they travel back down south to Tampa Bay. Gruden has had Reid's number in the past and it's the ultimate look ahead with Jacksonville on tap.

Like this play, good luck with it.

The more I look at his game I can't help but thinking that Philly is a much better team than New Orleans. Except for a flukish couple of quarters against the Giants, Philly would be undefeated. Philly's team is quickly reminding me of their recent super bowl team. Yes, NO has won 4 games, but 3 were against Cleveland, Green Bay, and Tampa Bay. The other was their homecoming Monday night win against Atlanta. NO is not a bad team, but Philly is an elite team. Elite teams win these type of games. This one may be close so I will not lay the hook. Take Philly -3.

Philly 24 NO 20

Do you realize Dallas had a chance to tie with a couple seconds left in a hostile enviroment? Stop it with Philly. If bledsoe even play poor Dallas wins this game. Bledso played horrible and Dallas loss. Lets not think Philly is this good all the sudden.

I for one won't be betting a dime on this game and neither should anyone else. There are better games out there.

Good Luck.

what makes one game better than another?

Every game has a 50/50 chance of winning or losing.

There are no guarantees or locks,

Feeling strongly about a game is only perception as anyting can happen once a game begins.

:nono:

Not saying this one is, but many lines are inflated because of public perception. Oddsmakers know that teams like NE, Indy, Dallas, GB (well over the last few years) are going to get heavy action on them because they are 'popular' choices.

If it was as simple as flipping a coin to decide a winner, you wouldn't have people that make a living betting on football games

i see this as an emotional letdowns spot for the eagles, they played above all their injuries last week due to the emotion of the TO game. I still don't think their D is very good (bledsoe can't move at all & the 'boys o line is awful so the sacks last week don't impress me). Really, eagles schedule has been a/b the same as the Saints where they've put up big #'s against the bottom dwellers (Phillies road wins at houston and SF a/b as impressive as saints road wins @ Gb & cle).
Saints have 1 big injury this week, the loss of Safety roman harper who has really played fantastic so far this yr. that will hurt their D but Sean Payton is a smart coach & he knows he is unlikely to win a shootout w/ the eagles. I expect alot of running from the saints this week as wearing down the Eagles D & keeping Mcnabb off the field is the best strategy for them to win this game. Saints won't repeat the Cowboys mistake of trying to outpass the Eagles. Their coaching staff is too good. eagles may win the game but saints will keep it w/i what will likely be a 4 at gametime. g/l w/ your plays.

Pug, the eagles road victory's against SF & Houston should tell you nothing more than those two teams easily have the worst secondary's in the NFL (the saints secondary is NOT great by any means, but lets be realistic, philly should score against those teams & the fact that they did means nothing a/b their overall competance in my opinion).

Good point Pug, agree on theorys, people do put too much emphasis on stats-as the saying goes, on any given night! However I smell a sucker bet on this game, could be wrong, but it's one of those too good to be true lines to me. I think Philly gets huge public money. gl to you.

another thought, NOR has a bye week coming up and may give a little something extra to go into their week off on a winning note.
this is a coin flip game....

Pug,

I guess I was misunderstood.

My post was meant to discourage others from saying not to touch this game. if you have a feeling about a game then by all means that is the one you should play.

I play games mostly in the same manner, more by feel and situaton, although I think the lines can give a sense of which team will cover, b/c books are in the business of making money.

This game looks like a trap to me b/c I think Philly is way better. But oddsmakers are not always right and I think this is one of those times.
I played Philly as soon as the lines came out at -2.5
The saints do not impress me at all, and the emotion of their return to the Superdome has faded.
They were lucky to beat TB last week.
They will not be able to stop Philly's high powered offense.
