PHOENIX (TICKER) -- The Phoenix Suns have scheduled a news conference for 6 p.m. EST and indications are that the team may announce the firing of coach Scott Skiles.
The Suns have dropped three of their last four games to fall under .500 at 25-26, and are one game behind Seattle for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot.
Assistant Frank Johnson coached the team during practice on Saturday and will likely be named coach if Skiles is dismissed.
Phoenix hosts the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night.
