Your playing the pick 6. How many horses can you play for 300? Was told a total of 25 but need to know for sure. Thanks

depends on how many horses you take and where you take them at. It all depends on that. I hope I answered your question. It also depends if you take the field in one race and where you took them.

FOR INSTANCE:

Starting in the THIRD race at Philadelphia today you go : ( how many horses in the race)

3rd- (One)
4th- (One)
5th- (two)
6th- (Four): two scratches/ six total entered (all)
7th- (Seven): one scratch/ eight total entered(all)
8th- (Six): one scratch/ seven total entered(all)

Total on this bet is $336

Hope that Helps.

Thanks Captain I should have been more specific. CD tomorrow has a carryover worth around 1m in the pick 6. Just trying to break it down how many horses each race for 300. There will be some races which will be impossible to handicap so might want to take 5 horses in that race but might only take 2 in another just trying to break it down and figure it out.

The pick 6 carryover at Churchill is a mandatory $2 pick six like most tracks offer but some now do offer a $1 pick six now like Arlington. So with the above example that captmorgan gave, that would actually cost $672 for $2. The $336 total is for $1. It is going to get pricey but the key is if you have a single in a leg here or there and then you can use 4 or 5 horses in another leg. I am going to do the pick six also at CD.

The later you use more than one horse the cheaper it may be.

Good luck also playing that pick six.

Went to Stevenson High School so I know some people that went to Glenbrook North/South. You live close to Calder or Gulfstream down there?

just keep multiplying the # of horses you take in each of the 6 races...race then multilply by 2 since it's a mandatory $2 bet.

1x1x1x1x1x1x2 = $2 bet

3x1x2x2x4x3x2 = $288 bet

if you're thinking of throwing 5 in any race but want to keep the total below $300, you better have 2 singles in the other 5 races and no more than 2 horses in the other races as it adds up quickly
