Pick the 2009 BCS National Champion at betED.com

The NCAA College Football season is just weeks away and now is the time for football betting fans to make their picks for the 2008-09 BCS National Championship.

BetED.com College Football Betting Odds have the USC Trojans as a +300 favorite to win the 2009 BCS National Championship.

The Florida Gators, Oklahoma Sooners, Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes round out the top five in betED.com?s NCAA Football Betting Odds, all at +600. The LSU Tigers are +1200.

USC won its sixth straight Pac-10 title last season, capped by a 49-17 Rose Bowl victory over the Big Ten champion Illinois Fighting Illini.

This season, Head Coach Pete Carroll?s team will have six new starters on offense, including quarterback Mark Sanchez, who replaces John Paul Booty, the Offensive MVP in USC?s Rose Bowl win. Booty was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2008 NFL Draft.

Sanchez completed 69 of 144 pass attempts (60.5 percent) for 695 yards and seven touchdowns and five interceptions while replacing Booty when he was injured last season.

The Trojans are in good shape at running back, as well, with Junior Stafon Johnson (98 carries, 673 yards, five touchdowns) and Sophomore Joe McKnight (94, 540, three TDS).

The Trojans? defense was bolstered by the news last month that linebackers Rey Maualuga and Brian Cushing would forego the NFL Draft for one more year with the Trojans.

Add in returning DE Everson Griffen and DT Christian Tupou (tackle), and the Trojans defense could be as good as last year, when it ranked 2nd in the nation behind Ohio State.

Last season, the Trojans went 11-2 SU and 7-6 ATS.

USC opens its 2008-09 season on Aug. 30 at Virginia.
