Above the Clouds....
This is for everyone. How is it that we spend hours capping games, we have the choice of what team, and we pick the wrong side?:( Everyone has been there with the teams that can't lose and they get hammered. When I call he tells me the spread and asks me what team I want. Why is it the majority of the time I'm wrong? I get the choice:shrug: I guess that's why bookies don't drive volkswagons.

A few questions. Do you keep detailed records of your gaming? Do you know your own tendencies? Do you shop lines? How many games have you lost by the hook in the past year?

This is a v-e-r-y tough business in which to make a profit. If you really want to come out ahead you're in the right place.

I understand how you feel Morris.
Someone answer this, as I'm sure it's more complicated than this,,take MNF game, you have two teams and a pointspread,,as you say, we get to pick,,so we have two choices for a straight up play. You will pick right or wrong (okay, excluding a push).
Is this not a 50/50 chance you'll pick either right or wrong?
The probablility question is maybe meant to prove out over a long period of time, and sure seems like it's harder than 50/50.
Similar to playing roulette, either it'll hit RED or BLACK, if you don't have the green.
I thought I didn't need high school, now I'm second-guessing dropping out.
Can someone shed some higher-learnin' on this? thx:confused:

We actually start out with a 50 50 chance but then we add all the stats and history and our knowledge of the game and the trends and who had a fight with his wife and who got laid last night and we pool at that knowledge together and we no longer hit it at 50% but bring it down to about 40%!

I tried flipping a coin, that didn't work. I also tried writing down my picks and going opposite, that didn't work either.:( I know these are tried and true methods I must be doing something wrong.

I'm aware that most cappers won't reveal their most prized moneybringers, but occasional angle or two is greatly appreciated.

Got this out of a hockey thread. Is this true ? If it is it makes things much harder for us. I believe spilling the guts is good for the soul.
