FIRST OFF, my answer to TIB which is why I TRIED to log in the other night to do. Then forgot about it last night (losing it).
Hey, TIB - the way I see it - unlike basebawl, in tennis, the biigger the favorite then the much better chance he's gonna win. Players going off worse than -300 have (I think) a tremendous winning record. BUT, the first rule in ALL of this kind of stuff (any sport) is DON'T GET CARRIED AWAY with a single. I got away with it ONCE in tennis when Federer played Mark Phililpousis in the US Open a few yrs ago. I couldn't beliieve my eyes watching the Fed man glide around that court in his prevous match. He handled his oponents shots like he was taking a leisurely swim in the backyard pool. He beat an excellent player that day (don't remember who it was) and came off the court without a wrinkle on his clothes or drop of sweat on his face. (Ever notice how his clothes look? Everythign is pressed and clean as a whisle). Betta believe I hammered him vs. Fulla Po Poo in his next match which was the final. I especially loved the odds which were -120 (or -130, not sure which). Mark's main weapon was a fast serve and that's about it. I got away with that one, but I KNOW better than to try that again unless I see something WAY out of ordinary like I saw with Fed.
So, what I'm saying is - I put two or more tennis favorites together to overcome the odds and YES sometimes I'll TAKE a dog that is getting at least 4 games. Only give games for the top players that have a history of socking it to their oponent. BTW, Federer does NOT belong to that crowd. Players like Hewitt, Nadal (on clay), Davenport, and others DO belong to that crowd. And if you like a heavy doggie, you can take him and the games (handicap) WITH another favorite in a two teamer. AND also play him to win outright in a separate SINGLE wager. (Man, I wound up writing a dang book!).
OK, Today:
GINEPRI +140 : If you've been reading my stuff - you know why I like this play.
CHELA +315 :We missed fading Federer (DAMN) , so let's not miss fading Roddick.
FERNANDO GONZALEZ -267:
CHAKVETADZE -212: Dechy is on the same southbound train as Roddick while Chakie (yeah, you spell it) has faced and beaten much tought like Mausemo for instance.
IVANOVIC +108: Battle of the VICS here. She lost a real tight match vs. Jankovic in last and I think she's looking for revenge. These two are very closely matched and the edge may be the workouts that have had to drain Jank in her last two matches. Ivanovic is the steadier player fersure.
SHAHAR PEER -220: Just because there's no comment doen't mean it ain't a very good play![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Good luck with these.
