Guess it's easier for players to track if I just continue this tourney in this thread instead of starting a new one each time I have something for this tourney. Actually, I gots very little for today's action though :(

Results from yesterday: Hmm looks like so so AT BEST.

Andreev: He continues to slide down the rankings and from the looks of yesterday's match... that's going to continue. One reason I picked him is that he looked pretty good vs. Clement in his last match and he's beaten much tougher than a "up n downer" like Baggie. I'm going to keep an eye on Baggie cause there's no doubt that he really does have his act together and he's staying on the UP cycle for the Open. Steering clear of Andreev though - I gotta forget how he USED to play.

Blake: When he was deep in his tailspin, RIGHT FROM THE START of his matches, he played like a LOSING Challenger type player. From the very first point and pretty much right up to the last point - HE COULDN'T HIT A BALL IN THE DANG COURT. He didn't do that at all yesterday even though they only got one game in before suspending the match. He looked OK to me. HEY, I see that most books are still offering this match today
You can get him at -130 though because he's up one game. I'm already on him and I kinda like my chances.

Today

NOT much. I do like a few huge favorites, but nobody needs me to pick them (I LUV parlaying SELECTIVE favorites in the first round of the BIG tourneys and that route has worked for me plenty of times).

Nadia Petrova -110: this is the match that I put ALL my time into and to be honest - think I'm taking a shot on account of the odds and not really finding much of an edge. Mattek-Sands was for a long time just a fatso, running around on the court, sporting the wierdest of outfits and (IMO) just wasn't into the game - mentally or physically. NOT ANYMORE though.
Petrova has always been "into the game" and a very serious competitor. What tipped the scales for me was that she is closing out her matches MUCH better than Sands and she's faced and beat better for quite some time. At -110, I'll give this one a shot. But BE CAREFUL - Sands is ranked something like 80th in the world and Petrova is 18th AND that fat guy with the cigar in his mouth and the wad of dough in his pocket is making this match even-stephen. That's usually a bad sigh. :0041

Just some stuff about the U.S. Open

Just some stuff about the U.S. Open

I guess punters like to read what everybody thinks about the big question - whose gonna win the Open. I don't care much for futures even though it is fun to playem. I REALLY enjoy tennis, but betting ain't fun to me. But just to share my thoughs...

Ladies Side

Man, do ya think Serena would just walz through this field or what? I sure am glad she ain't in it cause that would be no fun at all. IMO, there's only one player with the MINDset that would enable her to win it all. That would be Kim Clisters. Just about every other player on the ladies side are Head Cases that can't be trusted to pull it off. Their brain will not allow them to win it all even if their oponent tries to serve it up to them on a platter. And those that ain't brain jinxed, just don't have the talent to pull it off. Play Clisters? .. no way, Jose. The play for Clisters would be, "she lays a STINK bomb out there at any time BEFORE she makes it to the final (IF she gets to the final ... she DOES win it all though). No thanks, I'll pass on picking the lady winner even though I think a REAL sleeper may do it this year and that might be a No Namer player too.

Men's Side

Aside from one time (played Federer vs. Fulla Poo Poo to win the Open a long time ago, yeah he won too), I've only played a few futures on ONE player in the past and I really should play him this time around as well. That would be the stud with the red shirt on. Problem is that I really fear one other player, Murray. Is he on his game or what? I gotta believe one of these two is gonna be dancing with the trophy after the finale. BTW, Rafa is +345 and Murray is +385. Hmmm... what to do, what to do?

Looks like another 50/50 deal.

Petrova: winnah :)
Blake : losah :(

I kinda like 2 plays today. DON'T wanna go 50/50 again... so I'll post one and HOPE it's the right one. BYW, I'm on both but a little heavier on this one....

Stepanek +125: No blah, blah, blah today just sharing my pick (oh -> he's playing TroICKI).

BTW, I like parlays and esp. like the idea of putting a tennis "hot shot" favorite along side my picks to make the play a two or three teamer. I DON'T DO THAT with a play like I made today (Step @ PLUS odds) cause taking the chance of killing a doggie winner with a FAVORITE choker is a :nono:

But the point I want to get at is.... . sometimes a play comes along that I REALLY like to use as a parlay-mate for most of my picks. I call those a "Super Parlay STUFFER". You know, like a play that I think is gonna boost the payoff for each or most of my single picks. There is one that I'm currently using and it's one of them Little Leaguers.

Chinese Taipai looks unbeatable. I think there's only one team that has a shot vs. CT and that happens to be the one that's gonna play them next, Japan. I think that "shot" is slim enough to make CT a good choice as a stuffer/odds booster. STILL, not good enough to jeopardize the doggie pick (Step.); that one stays just a straight, single play. Just sharing my ideas with yas.

Good Luck whatever you play next time you're up at bat.

Nuthin yet

Nuthin yet

Just got online to see how Steppie did... turns out he didn't do a dang thang YET (that match didn't start yet  )

Then I just checked Yahoo to get a quick look at how my OTHER play did, Wozniaki. Hmmm... looks like she WON :00hour

I thought, "DANG, DANG, DANG... that's the "other play" that I didn't post. Went to Pilot's site to see the scores and come to find out that, YEAH... she won alright - in a freakin WALKover. :s2:

Here's something for anybody reading this stuff, just to make there visit here worthwhile...

"How bout that Stosur? She got liquified by Petrova! Now, how long ago was it right to the point BEFORE she met Schiavone in their Final? You know, at that point where Stosur LOOKED like air-apparent (however you spell dat) to Serena. And yeah, I waz on Stosur in that match.

My advice?... Put Stosur on the same dang list as Bahgdatis, Andreev, Blake, Safina, and (maybe even) Clisters, etc. Thems MUCH too eratic to waste valuable units on, Jakers".

Last thing .... .... . promise :)

I posted some college plays on this site when I started out, not sure if they were baskets or foots cause that was awhile ago. I thought to myself,"Self, this place is absolute Paradise ESP. compared to the forum I belonged to for a long, long time. A ton of Jackers online and I got over 50 views and almost 10 replies within MINUTES of me posting the plays. :scared

GREAT folks in my old forum, but Sheeet... we could hold our "meeting" in a dang closet :(
Heck, I bet even as I'm writing this - that there's probably a poo poo's load of Jackers standing on top of each other out there in them thar Foots Ball and even Base Bawlrooms (basebawl can't be beaten if ya playem nearly everyday IMO).

But I'm sooo surprised how quiet this forum is:shrug: Nice to see that the most qualified and knowledeable boxing specialist guy I've ever seen on the net (in forums, that is) is doing just fine, but where's the tennis players? Good thing Kick and Keg are around. BTW, I wanted to visit Ghost's thread with a reply/bump someplace in there but I just couldn't bare to do it cause I feel like a kindergardener talking about quadratic equations to a college professor in there. AND, I came REAL close to commenting on Kick's thread regarding his "Lady's futures play" but thought they might take it the wrong way.

I'm here now, so I might as well put it here,"LUV your idea bout going with the BIG Bombs, Kick. I think you're right on looking at the huge odds for the ladies side. BUT, I gave it a go and found that the two you picked AND ALL the other bombers I looked at - ain't worth a shot even 1/10th of a stinkin unit. I think one out of all those ladybums in the tourney just might pull off the shocker, but which one of the bastages is the REAL problem".

Summing this up - I'll keep on posting, but not to myself. I already know that Ghost and Kick visit me and I understand that they are really busy figuring and posting their plays. I could "kick" (LOL) myself for deciding to post my biggest play of this year a week or so ago in my old forum. I was gonna cut and paste that writeup here, but I'm thinking all the peoples that are reading this are falling asleep at this point so I won't. It was a HUGE (for me that is, 8 "not so stinkin units). It got a LOT (for that place) of VIEWS (70+) and the usual (only one) reply. :violin:

That's why I back at my only other forum, this place, now.

Stop in Jackers. And Visitors, sign up if ya like tennis and JOIN IN the conversations even if you ain't comfortable posting your own picks. Trust me, you can buy the same stuff with the units you can win in tennis as you can win in other sports. And there are some excellent cappers in this place. :00hour
