I just deposited my money for the upcomming season with Pinnacle.

Last year when I "re-uped" I recieved a 10% bonus.

This year I was told that the bonus is only for new accounts.

Their site states "We currently offer a 10% cash bonus (up to $500) for
all Internet Accounts that start with $250 or more."

According to their customer service, "starts with" now means only new accounts.

They have a great book, low juice and good customer service with fast payouts but I don't think this is fair.

I have gotten the bonus in the past.

Beyond going to another book is there anything I can do?

Thank you,

AA

Forget the bonus. It is one of the least important things in chosing a book. Nice but not necessary. Your money is secure and you have reduced juice.

They only give bonuses to new accounts as far as I know. Not sure how you got away with it last year. Consider yourself lucky.

Best of luck.

Withdraw your money, create a new account, re-deposit?

Another case of a business valuing new customers more than existing ones? That's getting awfully common these days.

How can one not be impressed by reduced vig on every event? Forget all the bonuses and gimmicks that some books offer. In the long run, reduced vig is the better deal by far.

Kniefl,

What's not to like?

Well,

I put $300 in an account with them. Bet for about one weekend and rolled it over 2-3x. At the end of the weekend I was ahead and had $538, $30 of which was the start up bonus. They refused to give me the bonus because I did not bet 5x my initial deposit. Oh well, I understand this because I did not bet it enough so don't give me the bonus, I'll just not use them again because of it - better books out there with better bonus rules IMHO. This happened with another book as well I won't name but I did bet their 3x rollover rules and they still did not want to give me the bonus and MJ helped me fix it. It seems to me these books are more interested in getting all of your money rather than giving bonuses with all of their rollover rules, thats okay with me b/c I like to take their money too:), and if it means not getting some crappy 10% bonus when I have almost doubled my account - FINE... I've used MANY Sportsbooks and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose... One thing that I am NOT impressed with that happens with all books is how much they like to f#@k with the lines looking for an edge against the player, that's pathetic. I'm a stickler about this so I like to move my money around, keep it in my pocket, and not stick with the same book, some have better dog lines while others have better fave lines. I guess I like to shop around.

To each their own...

If you like to shop lines, then you have to like Pinnacle.

And they were right to not give you the bonus. They have to require a rollover, and they have to stick to the rules.

Their reduced juice beats any bonus you could get anywhere else. You are just screwing yourself by not playing there.

Exactly. Bonus money should not be a factor when evaluating shops. A bonus is just that: a bonus.

Security and reduced vig are tops on my list.

I agree but...

I agree but...

I do agree that you should not pick a book soley based on bonuses.

However 10 or 20% is a big deal that will affect your bottom line.

If a person is lucky/good enough to hit 57-60% winners having that extra 10 or 20% of your bankroll is still very important.

The reduced juice can be big as well, depending on how many selections you pay the juice on.

It is all part of choosing a book. Anyone who says that bonuses are not important is missing out.

bet 19 is excellent..20% signup,9%monthly cash back, reduced vig certain days of the week (usually one day for colledge and one day for pro)..and i firmly believe that bonus is very important..it lets you make higher % wagaers and more staying power..i don't know why so many think your a bonus whore if you shop for the best deal..the books make plenty of money or they would not offer the bonus..why settle for 10% when 20% or more is available at books with great payout records??!! good luck this upcoming season..try bet 19..you'll love it..

Its hard to knock Pinnacle. Low juice for sports and a 7% rebate if you bet horses. Imagine cutting the takeout from almost 20% to close to 10%. That's a huge difference.
