Virginia Tech is seeking a berth in the Big East tournament for the first time in its three years in the league. The Hokies, who were tied with Miami in last place entering last night, must finish in the top six of the seven-team East Division to make the tourney. They'll have a hard time against Pitt without guard Carlos Dixon, a defensive whiz who helped them to upsets of Connecticut and St. John's before breaking his foot four games ago. Tech is winless without him.

Wisconsin will move into first place with a victory. A victory would also extend the program's home winning streak to 15 games, the second-longest run in school history. The Badgers trail the series, 84-53, but have won three of the last five. They lost, 66-65, in the conference opener last month but led by 15 with 6 1/2 minutes left.

mich +9 seems like the play here, these kids love their coach and come to play everynight for him, they have a shot at winning the big 10 themselves and since they can't go to the turny, to win the big 10 could bring their program back
