Miami-Ohio +10.5 over Iowa
Redhawks are up-and-coming with 14 returning starters from a team that finished 7-5 LY (4 loses by 4 pts or less). They have a future NFL prospect in QB Roethlisberger, who has a trebuchet for an arm and doesn't make mistakes, a 1000 yd rusher in Clemens, and a WR Nance who has raised eyebrows in practice. Their D was nothing to write home about LY (4.3 ypc, 59.2% passing allowed), but they should improve with 7 starters back. They should have enough starch in them to impede a retooled Hawkeye O which loses 4 OL starters and a QB. MAC teams have looked good so far this year (N.Ill over MD last nite), and Redhawks are 7-2-1 ATS vs. Big Ten. Now is the time to take advantage of an inflated point spread which reflects more past glories than current realities. Who knows, maybe Mia-Oh makes it to a bowl this year (last visit was ?86).
