Anyone in this contest risking cash on the Wash/Dal is an idiot.....not a handicapper.

These guys are a joke.

keep in mind that these guys, along with a few of us mortals here, took a bath last week. how that affects their picks this week, i have no idea, but expect they/we will re-bound.

these are the top picks by confidence level, meaning percentage for and against:

st louis 85% line posted at 9 1/2, if that makes any difference here.

chi 82% notice this line is at 6 1/2, quite a difference from the 7 1/2 we have seen. no telling how many votes would have swayed away, or even against, at 7 1/2.

dallas 78%

oak 78%

n.o. 76%

miami 68%

minny 63% with line at 9.5

k.c. 63% with line at 2.5

green b. 61%

cinci 60%

all others below 60% are pretty much meaningless, indicating indecision, too close to call, whatever. another interesting note is that sd/ne is split 50-50.
oak, a number 6 pick, has the 3rd highest conf. level at 78%, although getting 3.5 at the contest.

the fact that both of these teams, in a mortal fight for the bottom rank in the nfl, have played each other twice a year since i don't know when, and dallas has "owned" the skins since late 1997.

that is pretty powerful stuff. i did not play them either, but mostly out of disdain for both. money wise, dallas makes a lot of sense, since this is their "superbowl".

Bluegrass!
dallas--skins

Historically, this matchup is usually a shoot out if I remember correctly. BUT, I have yet to figure out how these two inept offenses are gonna score. Even with two chitty defenses, they're still gonna have one hell of a time trying to put it in the endzone...

Do you think both Off's may get, shall I say well against each other. It should be a under. But I don't know who stops who.

Rule number 1:

"Never ask a bad team to do something good."

Since both of these teams fit that bill, I would not risk a cent on that game.

Picking one of these teams over the other, is like washing shit off of your shoe with piss.

My only comment in regards to WASH/DAL is to look at who they've played... Both may be winless, but DAL is not GUTLESS! They lose to TBAY 10-6, a probable playoff team, 21-32 to San Diego, a possible playoff team at this point, PHILA 18-40, another playoff team, and OAKLAND last week, 21-28 and another playoff team. These four are ALL very good defensive clubs, and DAL has managed to put up some decent offensive numbers vs them. Granted, alot of it in garbage time, but still...

Meanwhile, WASH is giving up an average of 33.7 pts a game on defense, vs average offenses except for Green Bay, and have managed to score a whopping 25 points in ALL four combined!

DALLAS is at home on MNF and that alone is worth a couple points. I hate the COWBOYS, don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan, but the numbers don't lie. DALLAS is far superior to this WASH team at this point in the season.

yyz,

Come on guy. Just because other cappers don't do what you do is no reason to call them idiots.

I was going to stay off this board for awhile because I hated to see the way some of the cappers had started flaming and disrespecting their fellow cappers. Mad Jack's is to great of place to be driven down to the depths that some other boards have gone.

Tonight while I was watching the Spurs dismantle Boston I was thinking about this board and realized that staying away was not the solution. Perhaps I could encourage others to become friendlier and less abrasive to each other. I know I have been guilty of saying things I wished later I hadn't said.

Why don't we all start trying to bring our level of professionalism back up to what it used to be. We will always disagree, but that doesn't mean those with other opinions aren't just as worthy of success as we are ourselves. I hope we can all get away from this rude and abusive behavior we have gotten into the last few weeks.

Good luck with your picks this week, yyz. I hope you do well. As for myself, I put DAL -3.5 as one of my picks in the Aces Gold contest. I hope that doesn't make me an idiot.

Best wishes,

NCU

I appreciate the hilton #s. I feel like that is one of the best capping tools I have ever used. It is all a matter of interpretation though while alot of those guys are gifted, alot are ham and eggers, who typically play their favorite team every week. So when I see the raiders as their consensus, I weigh it carefully because I know at least half of the people who picked them are homers. Their are other teams that are in the same criteria. Dolphins, Packers, and when the cowboys were good them also. Now that they suck I feel that them being a selection is valid. Good luck evrybody. The team on that list that I'm going to jump on is the Bears.

For the most part, I stand by what I said. "Idiots"? Yes....probably a little strong.

I've seen some logical reasons as to why some of you would play Dallas. Me? Still can't do it. Teams that lose, find ways to lose.

NCU,

Good to see you back. Win or lose, you have a nice contribution to the forum. By the way, I was not flaming any of the guys here. I just questioned the % of people playing Dallas in the Hilton. (But, with the card as it looks today, there are not a lot of bets out there worth a second look!) Since these guys have to make a certain number of picks, perhaps this game is the lesser of all other evils.
