Plays for Thursday

Well, glad we're past Wednesday which was absolutely ugly. . . today's card looks a lot more positive to me with some big plays.

SMU laying 1 over Fresno State. . . I love this one. . . Bulldogs have had 3 days to get over their loss to Hawaii before traveling to play SMU, but SMU has had 5 days to prepare for this one. SMU also plays very well at home and as a favorite. Vegas is looking for Fresno State money and I plan on going against this "gift" in a big way (potential GOY but I will likely pull back a little. . . still waiting to watch this line).

Arizona State pk over UCLA. . . I watched UCLA and USC "battle" it out and wasn't impressed at all. Both teams were willing to score point after point without playing defense at all. I mentioned in another thread that I felt like I was watching thugs play a pickup game on the street. Arizona State is an offensive powerhouse and they actually play a little D to go along with it. Although not playing on their own rims, ASU should have no problem finding their touch against this weak and embarassing defense.

Opinion for now on Arizona over USC for the same reasons as mentioned above. However, I have a few concerns: USC coming off a horrible loss to Penn, Arizona's defense is questionable in my mind and they haven't looked great to me since their win at Oregon. May look at the total for this game as well.

Also looking to ride Eastern Washington laying 9 over Northern Arizona until they falter. Back tomorrow with final plays.

(I'm going to add them on to a couple of my tennis plays......just don't want my odds on tennis to drop....but if you think SMU will drop to a pk em I'll wait!)

Any thoughts on the Denver game? They seem to be playing pretty decent ball.

Its difficult for me to predict. . . I would think the public could drive this down to a pk, but its difficult to tell. I went ahead and played the line as it stands right now because of value. If I wait and the line goes up to 2 or 3, then I've lost value (even though I wouldn't expect the line to with us since the public likes Fresno State according to what I've seen so far). However, if the line goes against us to a pk or even SMU +1, then we haven't lost as much value IMO because I really expect SMU to win this game so laying just a point holds good value for me.

Hope that makes sense. I may reload later today, but put down a wager on laying the point for now.

:topic: ......and for what it's worth a great tennis play is (female) Schnyder to beat Petrova at $1.65 (I added that to the SMU play for a very nice parlay!)

So far, just two plays locked in:

SMU laying 1 over Fresno State big
Siena laying 1 over Canisius big (like the information I've read about these teams and Siena's chances)
East Carolina +8.5. . . Louisville has won 8 straight games ATS. . . best time to end that streak is on the road against a team that plays tough at home.

Still looking at the Pac 10 and other games. . .

Nickelback - dont follow smu much but wanted to pass on this info for your use, smu center Nigel Smith is doubtful tonight with a sinus infection. dont know how good he is or if he is even a factor in games, but wanted you to know the info anyway..... later

Just think they are a much better team than Rider and very capable of winning this one by double digits. But I'll settle for six or more!

Adding Butler laying 7. . . Wright State is a good team, but not a great one IMO. expecting Butler to get their act together and win this one by double digits.

Adding BYU laying 3.5 for the first half and laying 8.5 for the game. Think they handle UNLV the entire game.

Washington State +7 over Stanford
Arizona laying 9 over USC (did somebody really say USC is a lock ). For a team that doesn't play defense, USC will have to shoot the ball very well tonight IMO.
Arizona St/UCLA over 148 small
Eastern Washington laying 10.5 very small

Top two plays fall in the final few minutes of each game tonight. . . I apologize. . . especially for SMU. . . really thought we'd get paid on that one and unfortunately cannot get the actual box score to see what happened. . . what I do know is I would play that game every single time under the same circumstances. Oh well. . . hopefully the rest come in and leave us in decent shape (except for East Carolina obviously).
