That's correct! I went bust yesterday "chasing" losses. Should I admit this? Perhaps not, but it was the most undisciplained way to lose, that it needs to be told.
9-21 on the day, liking only two wagers on the day! That's right.....I liked two games all day, and split out.
But, I tossed a little here, and a little there, just to have something to root for. (Another one of my huge downfalls that I have admitted to in the past.) The more I lost, the more I wagered, in hopes of "getting it back".
I went 0-6 to end the night, and ruin my weekend.
That's okay, though, as I do my best handicapping when I have no money to wager!
You read that right.......I really do. I think it's because I can spend more time actually handicapping, and less time sitting in front of the computer and TV picking numbers out of a hat!
So......here's what I see for today:
Pittsburgh -3 o/u 33
This game has two very distinct camps wagering on each side. As just as many people can make a case for each team. I will side with Pitt, as I believe they are the better team. Cleveland has played some impressive ball, and could stay in this game. The thing is, Stewart has looked okay recently, and that bodes well for the Steelers.
The Browns lost a heartbreaker last week, and must have wanted to play this game Monday morning, just to get the taste of that dog out of their mouth! As well as they have been playing, I don't see them getting past the Steelers today. Both tems will be looking to avenge last weeks play, and Pittsburgh has a little more to fall back on.
A lot of guys are touting the under 33 today, but I am not so sure. I think the passing game gets a little more play today than most of you think. 20-17 is the lowest score I see, today.
Cower will be thinking twice about kicking field goals today, and that will be unfortunate. Brown has a great leg, but his toe is in question after last week. Still, I think Cower goes for it instead of trying a fg in certain circumstances today. I don't know how effective the Steeler running game will be today, and that is another reason I think they will move the ball through the air.
I am not "crazy" about this game, but I will rate it out as a small play:
1 unit-----Pittsburgh -3
2 units-----over 33
--------------------------
Indy -3
No James, no problem. Indy cannot keep stubbing their toe....they need to get going at some point. I don't think that Miami can stay with the weapons Indy has. The only chance Miami has, is to get a quick, and big lead.....I don't see that happening.
2 units-----Indy -3
------------------------------------
Carolina +19'
Just a flyer, but do you ever notice how a "substitute" qb seems to play well? Getting that kind of lumber in this situation is worth a unit.
1 unit-----Carolina +19'
---------------------------
Green Bay -2'
I'm tired of hearing about the "mighty bears"....Mighty lucky!
I do worry about taking the Packers on the road, as Favre seems to know how to piss these games away! The thing is, Chicago can't win from behind forever! Both teams have some good defense, and that is always a problem for Brett. Musical quarterbacks in Chicago doesn't seem to be the answer for them, either. I see this game being on the short side of that 37, but the Packers should pull this one off.
I don't think Chicago's defense puts up any points this week, and their offense won't be much better. Since I refuse to make a big recomendation on Favre on the road, I can't give this one too high of a rating. Still, I think Green Bay gets a comfortable win.
ANY Packer win today will at least go towards shutting the yaps of those idiots who broadcast and call in to AM670 in Chicago! (And get me one step closer to winning a hat from BahamaMama!)
There you have it! My "I don't have a dime to wager" wagers!
Good luck, and the gambling gods can kiss my nuts!
