Someone please explain the strategy used by a lot of teams, OSU for a prime example. OSU has the ball with an 8 second difference between the shot clock and the game clock until the end of the half. OSU drains the shot clock by dribbling the ball at center court to the point they have to throw up a hail mary shot rather than working for the best shot they can get and not trying to drain the shot clock. Even if they drain the shot clock there is still 8 seconds left which is plenty of time for MI to go down the floor which is exactly what they did. Teams do this time and time again and more times than not they get a bad shot off or no shot at all. Its horrible coaching because I saw the OSU coach tell them to play for the one shot. I just do not understand the strategy especially at the end of the half with an 8 second difference between the game clock and shot clock.while you are at it.
Can you also explain OSU's strategy of continually giving MI wide open 3's despite MI being 10 of 14 (over 70%) from 3. Again, another strategy I just don't understand
