As a relative newbie I do understand that there is an annual event planned in Las Vegas during the Superbowl weekend.

Could MadJack or someone else familiar with this please describe where it is held?

Might be useful to those of us considering attending to describe what to expect and what previous meetings have been like.

Thanks

AzRusty

Welp, let's see.

I'll be arriving sometime on Thursday. Last year, most arrived on Friday. Some leave on Sunday and some Monday.

By the time that weekend gets here, everybody will know what everybody else is doing and when everybody will be arriving. I'll keep everybody updated by email and on the site here.

This year the big days are going to be Saturday and Sunday. I hope that everybody participates on those days. On Saturday I'm planning a dinner and cocktail party. Probably between 6-10pm. Something like that.

Sunday we all will be going to a superbowl party, place to be named later.

Thursday and Friday we pretty much try to hook up with people and meet to do some gambling or drinking or eating or whatever.

I think about 25 showed up last year and I'm hoping for 60+ this year.

All I DO know is that we'll all have a great time. Can't wait! See you there.

Plans will be more specific once we have all the commitments from everybody. We'll make reservations for the rooms, the conference room and the superbowl party at that time. Probably sometime in October. I'll need deposits from everybody this year because if you say you're coming, you HAVE to show up. I'll be laying out a lot of dough this time. It's gonna be a good one

On the front page there is a link to some pictures taken at the party last year. Check it out.

costs?

where are you flying in from? coast to coast RT is around $250-$300. you will have to book early and wait for specials.

rooms will be in the neighborhoor of $100 per night. if you don't want to stay where most will be staying, if you book early enough, you can probably get something for around $50 per night.

i'm not sure of the other costs yet, but not too much expense. you'll be winning money anyway

Jack,

The reason that I have been somewhat persistent in asking where this thing will be held is that I would like to take my wife along. But she's the kind of person that prefers to go first class.. or not at all!

No...she's not REALLY stuck up and no she's not REALLY a bitch. She just likes to stay in nice places.

Reminds me of when my first wife and I were divorcing and she said I don't REALLY hate you. Well... I said I don't REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hate you either! Dumb mistake on my part. NEVER divorce an attorney! Dumb Dumb Dumb

Just make sure it looks like an accident.

OK... I't trying to ease Kathy into the idea of coming along on this trip. She already thinks you guys are a bunch of maniacs.

Maybe if we all wear hats she'll think it's a Shriners Convention. Well...that won't work because I'm not a Shriner!

Still thinking....

Oooh, a prize - like it's not already tempting enough just to get on a big bird and wing my way over Jack

Hmmm..."It's like this boss; our paper has really neglected the Superbowl in recent years and you really wouldn't understand the groundswell of following the game has here in Waikato ..."

I need a bed for about 5 hours a night/day that is. If my wife don't make it I will need a chick or two just to look at. 1837 may help with that.
