Recieved this email from a very straight shooting kind of guy I worked with a few years ago.... feel free to copy into email and forward to those one your email lists....

Hey everybody,
>Sorry for the mass email, but I got important news tonight. My dad
>works for FEMA and he's really involved with the goings on in NYC. He
>told me that within the last 24 hours, more than 30 Ryder, U-Haul, and
>Verizon trucks have been reported stolen across the country. The U-Haul
>and Ryder trucks were rented and then never returned, so they're
>considered stolen.
>Many of them were rented by people of Arab descent. I don't mean to
>make any assumptions, and I certainly don't want to scare you, but I
>thought you all might like to know. Be wary of these vehicles, pay
>attention to them, and don't walk or park near them. He said to stay
>out of major public places if at all possible (Crossgates, the Pepsi,
>downtown Albany, etc.) because recreational sites would most likely be
>hit on weekends. I'm sorry to cause alarm, but he told me it was ok to
>share this information. If you'd like to foward it to anyone you know,
>feel free, as there is a possibility it might save lives. I hope
>everyone is doing well, and give those you love an extra hug.

My girlfriend got the same one. Probaly just like all the other lame emails that people send when crisis strikes. The information is too general in some areas and too specific in others to hold any credibilty.

On the same level as the email from a 'friend of a friend' who was a dating a guy from Afghanistan and he left her a note that told her not to fly on Sept 11 and not to go near any malls on Oct 31.

These guys were on a misson for their God, they aren't going to be dating anyone while they are training for this mission. So this is another absurd email to cause mass hysteria.

well i thank shaf for posting something he thought might be of use.
he is not a kid ,he is an up front good man and a business person,so if he said he has faith in this person and felt it was worth to share with other friends so be it some of you people act like everyone is a kid over half of these people are or were over 38 and professional but we have lost some good ones in the last 4-5 months over things like this,ex loophole,jr44,barfly,gatorbait,mags44 and the list goes on its late and i cannot think of all the others but there are lots of them.
thanks again shaf.

Shaf I notice you don't live too far from me, so it may also be a local email that hasn't yet hit the imformation superhighway yet.

But it has NY locales mentioned. I did not see the email my girlfiend received, but it is the same one because she read it to me. All you need to do is see how many people have forwarded it, and what date it was originally sent on.

We have all seen these things in our mailbox. But then again after what transpired on 9-11 we can't be too careful. But I believe if there were a legitimate threat as specific as this the government would at least give some warning.

And believe me, I am the last person who will vouch for the government. But at this point they can't afford to not be on the ball and let another disaster like that happen again, without some sort of inclinations being given.

Don't go to the bathroom on October 28th. CIA intelligence reports
> that a major plot is planned for that day. Anyone who takes a poop
> on the 28th will be bitten on the butt by an alligator. Reports
> indicate that organized groups of alligators are planning to rise
> up into unsuspecting American's toliet bowls and bite them when
> they are doing their dirty business.
>
> I usually don't send emails like this, but I got this information
> from a reliable source. It came from a friend of a friend whose
> cousin is dating this girl whose brother knows this guy whose wife
> knows this lady whose husband buys hotdogs from this guy who knows
> a shoeshine guy who shines the shoes of a mailroom worker who has
> a friend who's drug dealer sells drugs to another mailroom worker
> who works in the CIA building. He apparently overheard two guys
> talking in the bathroom about alligators and came to the
> conclusion that we are going to be attacked. So it must be true.

as shaf already posted, this is a hoax.

the link he provided is a very good one for helping you be aware before getting unnecessarily scared -- there is enough badness out there without getting spooked by what is total BS.
