"that was my only goal"

I don't believe you for a second.

Why head the thread "Why You Should Not Pay for Picks"?

Because of one scammer?

There's hundreds more of his ilk out there - and if someone believes him and sends him money then they r a complete buffoon who will lose $$ one way or the other, be it gambling, marketing, stock investing, selling...

Pay Service

Pay Service

I do think their are some good ones out their. I have a friend out of Reno who is a much older guy. I met him about three years ago and we became friends. He has gotten me a lot of good deals by knowing people. He charges me and a buddy 500 per season. He does not play until the 5th week of the season to get his numbers. I got started with him one year when he gave me his card and record in the Nfl. He told me he charged 500 and called his clients on tuesdays. This guy is as smart as they come. I can ask him about anything in the sports world and he knows it. He always has great stories to tell me about pro athletes everytime I see him. To make the story short the first year I did not buy his picks, but everytime I went to Reno he would give me his picks for $10. I would page him every once and awhile and he would instantly call me back and give me his plays. I told him I would by him dinner and a drink the next time I saw him. To make a long story short the first year I played with him he hit 74% and the next year he hit 67%. However, last year he started out 1-4 and was losing on a lot of backdoor covers. He said he was done for the year and refunded everyone their $500. The cool thing about it was on Sundays you could go watch the games with him and have a beer. He is off to a 3-1 start this year. I do not have the time with work to cap any games, so I pay him to do it for me. This is what pisses me off about some of you assholes. Some people do not have the time to research and cap their own games. This is why the pay other people to do it for them. It is no different than having a broker. Look at some of the great companies that have collapsed in the market recently. A lot of people have lost their retirement and fortune. Are these people idiots for trusting the company and buying their stock. If you are going to pay for someones picks look at it as an investment. You may lose or you may win this is the risk of gambling. Sorry some of us do not have all the time in the world to cap like you guys.

Thank you west coast guru for showing there are two sides to the world of pay services. Atleast some of us out here realize the picture isn't as one sided as alot of people want to paint it to be.

First off I can post whatever & whenever I want. I'm not saying the story you post is a lie, just expressing an opinion for the other side.

high roller.....you are twisting things....i said you were a fool for different reasons.....not just for buying a service.....get it right and stop twisting my words -- makes you look even more foolish

and what i specifically mentioned was that you talk too much about stuff you do not know enough about.....if you would stop being so adament about your opinions which are ignorant and started listening to wise council i would lift that label....until then proceed on....believe me -- some of the things you and others say many of the people laugh at because you just don't get certain concepts about gambling....i say this in trying to both help you and help end some of the worthless clutter that is starting to overwhelm this board

also -- i myself acted rather foolish when i first joined this board....learned quickly though because i have friends in the know and who were able to explain things to me.....take heed of some good advice for once and listen instead of stubbornly thinking you are right all the time......

Dr.Freeze

Dr.Freeze

Taking you seriously for a minute...

Maybe your right and maybe there are things I need to learn about gambling.

I guess there is enough smart ones here to take your advice and
stop and think before i post useless stuff.

Thanks and I mean that seriously.

Don't you worry a bit. Your a straight up and honest guy.

It has absoultely ZERO to do with you.

I value you more than you know.

My thread has to do with an issue I had.

Talk to Jack about it he can fill you in more detail.

got it through the grape vine i think i understand what went on.

tend to get gun shy when i see something like this just wondering if my name was going to be in it.

Doc might come off harsh at times but he is a good guy and means well. And have had a few go arounds at the start with him but when you get to talk to him 1 on 1 he is a good guy who has opinions that i can respect in more then just handicapping :)

thanks fletcher.....and also would like to clarify again what i said about pay services -- if you are paying to get plays and they are sharp -- they may be worth it -- it just depends on how much you pay and how much you play with.....fletcher has a good sense where sharp money goes......more than me anyway....

if you are just paying for an opinon/aggressive marketing -- it is a whole different story most of the time.....

HighRoller -

Well drfreeze may be at work, he might have something more important to do than responding to a dipstick like you .
It may take a day or two but he will respond I assure you.

Hey HighRoller I could help you learn the throw it down principle if you would like. Let me know. I will give you a hour to answer this. Otherwise you and me are done.
