The 17-16 Villanova Wildcats March down to Lynchburg, VA to take on 26-8 Liberty, the #2 seed in the NIT, on their campus. Liberty is 18-1 at home. Liberty is -3.5/136.5. Tip is 9:00 pm.
No great write up today. I am taking Over 136 (buying hook).
Both clubs disappointed to be in NIT. Liberty lost by 1 in their Conference final. Nova’s been in the NCAA in 18 straight years. Liberty is at home which helps and will look to knock off a Blue Blood. Both teams shot poorly in their last games. Both teams shoot a lot of 3’s. Liberty is 29th in the country in made 3 point percentage. They have what will be the best player on the floor in Darius McGhee (22.5 ppg). One other player: Kyle Rode scores in double figures (10.9 ppg) for them. McGhee shot about 24% in their Conference final and he’ll look to bounce back. Not sure if the fact that Nova was unseeded in the NIT will provide any incentive. Hopefully, the Villanova Seniors will want to live to play another day.
