Guns are restricted now every time i buy one there is a background check done on me by the TBI the city of Chicago has more gun violence than every other city in the country and has the toughest gun laws in the country
so you support background checks? i mean, statistically, you probably do. "86 percent of American adults support U.S. Congress mandating background checks for all firearm sales and transfers." so can you explain why republican politicians consistently vote AGAINST universal background checks?
and while the right wing media would have you believe you can't walk down the street in chicago without getting shot, the facts don't quite back that up. i don't know if you understand "per capita", but let me try to explain. if 100 people live in city A and 2 people live in city B, and city A has 2 shootings and city B has 1 shooting, then city A had twice as many shootings. but you are 25X more likely to be involved in a shooting in city B. population matters. understand?
the top 4 cities for gun deaths, PER CAPITA, are in the South. St. Louis MO, Birmingham AL, New Orleans, LA, and Jackson, MS. You're about 3X more likely to be shot in those cities than Chicago.
but here's the fact that's going to blow your mind... "From 2011 to 2020, the most rural counties in the U.S. had a 37% higher rate of gun deaths per capita than the most urban counties." that's right, you're more likely to die from gun violence if you're in a rural area. i guess you need to be able to comprehend a basic fact... more people live in a city than in a rural area. a lot more. so, duh, cities have more gun violence overall.
