This guy should not answer questions. Caught with a few lies from a guy in his own party yesterday. And to say he's not involved with much intelligence gathering. Is he nuts. He runs the budget for all of the military intelligence gathering.

I *almost* felt sorry for Rummy during that exchange. He looked much like Scott McClellan did when they ran him out there.

Then again, all the guy (was CIA agent for 27 years) did was quote Rumsfelds own words.

everyone has the right to question...was a bit of an ambush...

but, rumsfeld stood his ground and allowed the guy to speak...and answered his questions(accusations).....

say what you will about rumsfeld...but,while our politicians took off running from capitol hill on 9/11, 1st hand witnesses saw mr rumsfeld help carry people out of the pentagon (more impressive when you remember that he is no spring chicken)......

you can say what you want about this guy... but he certainly has spine

Yeah, it was definitely an ambush. That guy was on a mission.

But Rummy looked terrible when he denied saying things and then his exact quotes were read to him. Then the tap-dancing began. He looked ridiculous and disheveled, a la McClellan.

I will give him credit about one thing though. After the first few questions, the gestapo came along and they were about to remove the guy, but Rummy told them to let him stay and continued to field the 'questions', such as they were.

"the bunker"
obviously...some very smart(not just partisan) people think that rummy ,franks et al blew the post war occupation....

just hate seeing hysterical/disruptive/uncouth/ frenzied attacks....theres a lack of civility...a lack of respect and decorum......but,i`ve never been the radical/hippie type...i could never disrupt a gathering like those people did...

and i`d be dead set against conservatives acting in that manner...(even though i can`t remember any instances of that happening)...

that`s me...they`re free to do so,i guess...

i think it hurts the protestors in the public`s eye...at least the moderate publc...

but "some" of those are legit questions.....a legit discussion...

the constant "bush lied" thing is ridiculous,imo....no sane person believes that the administration "lied",knowing that there were no wmd`s....knowing the political price that would be paid eventually...

no sane person believes that 9/11 was an inside job....

and if it were.....if 9/11 were a governmental set-up(i can`t believe i`m even writing this)it would be a cake walk to plant something in iraq to justify the wmd issue..

i understand railing about the intelligence being wrong...

a little civility would be nice..

The guy is a liar just like his boss. They lied us into a war they don't know how to end. They should be hung for treason.

They said they knew where the wmd was. They played video of that liar Rumsfeld saying it over and over again. Why did they do it? Who knows? But the Carlye Group made out pretty good in this invasion of Iraq for no good reason.

it would be Clinton-like at this point to debate the issue of what is and is not a lie but I have to say that repeatedly stating something as a fact when it is not is as close as you get to lying.

"the bunker"
every intelligence agency in the world believed they had them....god knows how many u.n. resolutions....saddam jerking blix and al baradei around like a couple of clueless shitbirds........

plenty long enough for saddam to move or dispose of anything he had....

the last time i checked, more democrats in congress voted to o.k.action against iraq this time than voted to remove saddam from kuwait...

the phony u.n. trade embargo was falling apart...yada yada.....we`ve been over this ad nauseum...

let`s call a spade a spade for a change...

the gore and kerry election losses..and the clinton blowjob scandal(which i admit was a waste of time, even though he acted like an idiot and brought it on himself)....

fter these, even a mild dislike of "w" rapidly morphed into the ferocious bush hatred we are now all familiar with......

the opposition to a conservative republican and reasonable disagreement with his policies became a swooning hysteria......and an unmitigated, deranged hatred with all the accompanying paranoid delusions......

he is blamed when he does something (anything) and he is blamed when he does nothing.......he is blamed for things that ocurred even before he was president, as well as everything that has happened since.......

he is blamed for things he says; and for things he doesn't say.

what makes bush hatred completely insane however, is the almost delusional degree of certainty that bush and the gang are evil geniouses...l..... while simultaneously believing that he`s a moron.......

and that the true perpetrators of evil in the world are somehow good and decent human beings with the world's intersts at heart.....

it explains why there is more emphasis on protecting the "rights" of terrorists, rather than holding them accountable for their actions (thier actions, by the way are also bush's fault, according to those in the throes of b.d.s)

.. terrorist activity itself is blamed on bush no matter where it occurs.....

it isn't even a stretch of the imagination for some to blame 9/11 on bush....we`ve all heard it...

. this insane "logic" spares the moonbats from the painful reality around them and gives them the illusion that they are still in control.....

like whiny petulant angry children, who expect daddy to instantaneously make everything better.....or else they won't like it....

we get it, stevie.....the same old monkey pizzle...

If you still think that Bush is a Conservative Republican it is you who is delusional. As for the rest of your whiny tirade it is just more of the same from you and the kool aid drinkers. Even when the facts are thrown right in your face you can't see them. It really is getting to be pathetic with you Bush apologists.

destruction over the past 12 years, or over the last several months
since (UN Resolution) 1441 was enacted, we would not be facing the
crisis that we now have before us . . . But the suggestion that we are
doing this because we want to go to every country in the Middle East
and rearrange all of its pieces is not correct."

Colin Powell
Interview with Radio France International
February 28, 2003

"So has the strategic decision been made to disarm Iraq of its weapons
of mass destruction by the leadership in Baghdad? . . . I think our
judgment has to be clearly not."

"the bunker"
volume is never a solid alternative for substance,stevie...

nice cut and paste....from kos?....

the u.n. ponzi game worked..they ran interference while saddam disposed of the goodies...

one more question...he had weapons...just like south africa had weapons...be they nuclear, chemical or bioligical...that`s a fact....

and this dance went on for over a decade...

if he removed them...got rid of them...why did he do it on the sly?...instead of out in the open for the u.n.to catalog...

thereby saving his regime..his life...his son`s lives?....

the template was there with the ukraine and south africa...not a difficult thing...

WHY WEREN`T THE WEAPONS BAGGED AND TAGGED?

remember,it was illegal to destroy them unless it was under u.n. supervision...

not to mention so incredibly stupid,it begs credulity...

btw...if bush had prefaced his remarks with,"our best intelligence indicates"....would that make it alright?...

would silly semantic games salve your hysteria?....

i doubt it..

Yes, Weasle it was a cut and paste. Do you have a problem with that? Why don't you stick to the subject. Runsfeld, among others who sold us this war said they knew where the WMD was. They lied. Do you argue the fact that they lied?

Left Wing History

Ray McGovern, the former CIA analyst who last week accused Rumsfeld of lying about pre-war intelligence, has a long history of attacking the administration from the left. McGovern co-founded Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, which encourages intelligence operatives to undermine the Bush administration by leaking classified information.

He also called for the president's impeachment when he was a star witness in last year's Democratic hearing accusing the administration of misleading the country into war ? claiming the U.S. invaded Iraq for oil, Israel, and to establish military bases in the region.

What's more, the Weekly Standard reports that McGovern served so-called "war crimes indictments" on the Bush White House in January on behalf of the left-wing group, Not in our Name, which was founded by revolutionary Maoist activists.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Positive Steps

A retired army general who was once called Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's "most outspoken critic" over the war in Iraq now says the U.S. is achieving its objectives there. Barry McCaffrey, perhaps best known as President Clinton's drug czar, blasted the Pentagon in 2003 for invading Iraq without enough troops to keep the peace after the fall of Baghdad.

But after a week in Iraq, McCaffrey praised the morale and effectiveness of U.S. forces as "simply awe inspiring," called the Iraqi Army, "real, growing, and willing to fight," and noted that "the Iraqi police are beginning to show marked improvement in capability."

And while he called foreign fighters a "tactical menace," McCaffery reports, "the foreign jihadist fighters have been defeated as a strategic and operational threat to the creation of an Iraqi government."
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Stevie on the WMD issue--I quess you forgot all the quotes from Dems saying exactly same same thing the Charles continuely put up.

The bottom line is IF you can find quote from someone from either party that said there were NONE prior to invasion---he should be the one singled out.

If he had em and used em and continued to imply he had them and refused inspectors--what conclusion would a sane person from either party come to.

Can't let this slip through the cracks without a comment, gw. It has been my position all along that Bush is very moron-like and the people who propped him up for the past few years to get him into public office and continue his march to the top are the evil geniuses. I don't think for one second Bush came up with much of anything on his own. But Rove, Cheney, Rummy, and the crew? And the people who have taken on positions of importance thanks to Bush "ASSuming command?" The grand evil plan has worked to a "T", in my opinion. This excerpt from your post can be quite valid, and not delusional, to my way of thinking.
