Jacksonville (-6) vs. Tennessee

I know it's still kind of early, but this play keeps looking better and better. Besides Pac Man Jones, Tennessee has also lost thier starting RB (Henry) and their most productive WR (Bennett). I just can't picture Tennessee moving the ball against Jacksonville's tough D. Last season Jacksonville beat Tennessee at home 37-7 but lost @ Tennessee 24-17 (Keep in mind that all of Tennessee's TDs were defensive TDs, with suspended Pac Man Jones accounting for one INT return for TD of 83 yards). Jacksonville also has a very impressive opening week ATS record.

Any thoughts? (I didn't put the bet in yet, and I know there's a good chance the line will go up but I respect all of your opinions and if the majority of you think the opening spread is too high I may pass on this game)

BFL, IMHO it's way to early to make any kind of
wager. Who the hell knows what will happen
injury wise between now and week 1, who the
hell knows which Jax team will show up, and I
got a sneakin suspicion Tenn will open some eyes
this year. Relax bro. You, me, and everyone else
is chomping at the bit to get to football season,
it will be here soon enough. In the meantime get
out and enjoy the summer :toast:

When we are all dead gone from this earth we will look back with fondness on the football games we enjoyed over the years.

It will be a good memory of how we spent much of our past involved in.

What sticks in the mind after last seasons results?
The Jags had a pretty good year BUT what will stick in most peoples mind is that QB from Tenn.
The NFL already has given the Titans more MNF appearences this year than they've had in years.
I feel JQP will look to play Mr. Young plus the points.
So, Jax. may have some value.

Henry is gone, but White and Brown are still there.
Brown was the starter in 2005, so they do have experience at that position. VY was their 2nd leading rusher last year and he returns for another season.

Tenny does lose Drew Bennett, but he's not exactly Marvin Harrison or Steve Smith...Tennessee will move on without him.

VY bought all his WRs tickets to Houston to have an extended workout with them. I thought that was a positive step in getting them on the same page before training camp starts.

Losing PacMan was a huge loss for the Tenny defense and they will be exposed in 2007.

The X-factor here is still VY. Can he work the magic again this year and inspire confidence in this team? I say yes. He got Mack Brown a national championship so anything is possible with him.

but considering how well Jax plays at home (except against Houston for some stupid reason), I think they will beat Tenny. Laying the 6 doesnt seem like a stretch.

the line should come down with all the VY love going around (merrill hodge not included)

Hooks, you may be right, I just know the Tits
got their act together the last half of the season
but more importantly Jax underperformed on
SEVERAL occasions and those rat bastids cost me
a huge parlay on one occasion.

The one game that I drew a quick opinion on for
Week One reg. season was the Pitt/Cleve game.
I think it has UNDER written all over it.

Can't wait :00hour

Here's another possible BIG play for me:

Denver (-3.5) @ Buff.

My guess is this line is gonna go up to -6 by Week 1 (and of course, I'd pass on it if the line moved that dramatically). Denver did lose Tatum Bell but replaced him with Travis Henry, who should put up MONSTER numbers with Denver's style of offense. Denver also recently added some much needed bulk on the d-line by picking up Adams AND Kennedy in free agency. Denver looks to be in the running this year and should easily run over a Buffalo team that has lost McGahee as well as a couple of key defensive players (CB Clements, LBs Fletcher and Spikes).

Laying points with Cutler on the road is a big no-no
for me.............

Actually, Denver's ATS record on the road with Cutler as the starter is 1-1 (20-48 @ S.D. while getting 7 and 37-20 @ Arizona while giving 3). He does, however, have a HORRIBLE ATS record at home (0-3 vs. Seattle, Cincy and S.F.......go figure  )

I just checked the Week 1 lines today. Denver is up to -4! Looks like I may end up passing on this game after all, since there are already more bets on Denver....

this line reminds me of the opening line 2 years ago against Miami ... everyone was on em and they got shut down. I think that was the case. Not saying this isnt a good play just reminds a little bit of Denver opening on the road that year.

I apologize it was St louis last year I should research before i post. Sorry about that.

but it seems Denver has opened on teh road last two years and lost outright both times
