Went to So Bama-Texas St game last night. So bama won 76-67 I guess finally the Sun conferences coaches figured out ..that tex St ranks in the 300's on scoring and has one offensive threat pre-season POY of conf player in 5'8 Harrell. Bama put on 6'2 Tyrell Jones number 0 on him and at half time Harrell has 2 pts no assists or rebounds. He was hounded like ODU did a few nites ago. Harrell ended up with 11 pts but most of those pts came in the end. Bama's pt gd Moore penetrated,dished off and outstanding on defense So bama has Partham who is there leading scorer who wasn't a big factor in last nites game but what form he has on his jumper. In warmups I saw him hit 10 3pt jumpers in a row. But Bama owned the paint with 7'0 260 pound post player in Kevin Samuel who had 6 blocked shots and some of these blocks were ending up row 5 and I was ducking the ball because I was in row 3.Bama dominated the boards and with Harrell being " hounded " and not getting free Bobcats were desperate to score. Also I liked the So Bama coach because everytime a post player for Tex St would come up to screen Harrell and handoff the ball the def post player would trap Harrell with number 0 Harrell would have the ball trapped with 7'0 Samuel and Jones on him Jones is 6'3 and Samuel 7'0 and Harrell 5'8 Anyway enough on the game.. Tex St front line was not a factor and was dominated by So Bama. This was a well coached team and were prepared to play Texas St. Tyrell Jones at 6'2 and 190 was the MVP because he was all over Harrell and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out Bobcats offense. And Tx st coach after your players have had your driving layups being blocked in rows 2,3,4 and 5 maybe I would stop and pull up for a short jumper. I saw the box score this morning and it had So Bama with 6 blocked shots. No way there had to be about 10 or more.

Love my Mean Green tonight.. One of the best defensive team in the country and already beat Char 67-43. NT has won 8 in a row They are holding teams to 56 pts a game. NT's problem is offense is suspect . Thank god they have Perry their pt gd . Grant McFarland the coach who NT signed to a new contract is the highest payed non power 5 school coach in the country. In last yrs Conf USA they held the last 11 teams they played to under 60 pts a game. He has Ousmane at 6'10 in the middle and his job is to rebound and play D.
