Thought I would start a fun thread to see who everyone is picking. . . I'll start it off:

I think this series will be remembered for its incredible pitching performances that overshadow timely hitting that lead to the few runs that we will see in this series.

Although I want to say the DBacks win their first two games. . . I think it is more realistic to predict a win for each team heading to New York. I'm not about to predict which Arizona pitcher loses!

Arizona falls in game 3 with Anderson as the starting pitcher. . . Brenly will realize that Arizona needs more offensive production for the rest of the series and will gamble at times by bringing in Colburn and Durazo when a spark is needed.

Schilling comes back in game 4 out of desperation since AZ cam not afford to fall down 3 games to 1. . . Schilling get the DBacks to even.

With the series tied to games apiece, Brenly makes a key decision. . . Batista will get the nod to start game 5 in order to give Johnson and Schilling an extra advantage of being able to pitch at home to try and close out the series. If Batista wins, the DBacks look like a sure winner as their two aces probably would not lose back to back games at home. If Batista loses, then the burden falls on the DBacks. . .I believe Batista will get blown away in this game as the Yankees take control of the series.

Game six is the exact opposite. The DBacks will benefit greatly by giving Johnson an extra day to rest. . . I see the Big Unit pitching a complete game shutout and forcing a decisive game 7.

Unlike the series trend for the past six games, I believe the bats will come alive for both sides in the final game. Both teams have had the opportunity to face the other's "ace" pitcher in two previous games and have learned what to look for. . . etc.

I believe the Yankees will go to their bullpen early where they have an advantage over Arizona. Schilling will continue to pitch till the seventh inning where the Yankees take the lead seven to six and Brenly realizes they must go to their bullpen and take their chances. Durazo and Colbrun both enter the game in order to take the advantage on the offensive end. While Durazo was the hero of the final game versus Atlanta, Colbrun will hit a double in the ninth inning sending Spivey (designated base runner) and Gonzo home to beat the Yankees 8 to 7!

Obviously this story is slanted toward Arizona. . . I felt like explaining my prediction from only the DBacks point of view throughout the series. Be creative and tell me your prediction!!!

Throwing Brian Anderson in game 3 absolutely brilliant. He won't be intimidated like Albie would and he will shut down the lefties.

Game 1 - Yankees beat D'back bullpen after Schilling pitches gem (1-0 NYY)

Game 2 - Unit shuts down Yanks - D'back win (1-1)

Game 3 - Brilliant move by Brenly, Anderson shuts down lefties, Luis takes Rocket deep. Kim saves game, but barely. D'backs win (2-1 Az)

Game 4 - Highest scoring game of the series, Yankees in a slug-fest (2-2)

Game 5 - Schilling wins rematch, 3-0. Luis doubles home Womack in the 2nd - Sanders homers after that. Lead stands with Schilling's complete game.

Game 6 - Unit comes full circle and wins the ring for the Snakes. BOB is jumping and Matt Williams, stuggling all year, homers off Pettitte with the decisive runs. Az wins 4-1 and the series 4 games to 2.

I totally agree with ya on B. Anderson instead of Lopez here in gm 3...this kid will just go out and throw strikes and is always around the plate , letting the Def make the plays for him...watch for Bautista..this kid has a great slider and when in a groove he can be dominating

The yanks in 6, they will not lose to a bunch of rattlesnakes. They've come too far and they will win it for new york.
