Nyy vs (likely)tigers
---tigers may take a game #1 with Verlander going, vs Sabathia or anybody, but I have little confidence in their SP's following, save, maybe, Fister. Fister was decent vs Yanks in 1 @ late July and was decent vs home at Safeco in early '09 before being trashed by them at Safeco in mid Sept '09, his only 3 meetings; he's been outstanding since mid-August and may get a good draw as the Yanks SP's are looking a little grim entering the tourney...might see some serious overs nix the Verlander games. Tigers have had more succes vs lefties on the road, this year, and have hit the same better for several years now; Sabathia the only L for Nyy and a meeting vs Verlander would surely tempt me near even money for game #1. Hard to buck the Yanks for the series but I don't see them going all the way. I think I'd try a series price on tex if they face 'em, assuming a +130 to +160 tag.

ALDS 2
Tex vs (maybe)bosox
---Tex was 1-3 at home vs 'sox in August but these teams look totally different than they did back then. I'm not sure who the 'sox will go with in all games but I wouldn't be too confident with any of their SP's, currently, the way the Rangers are hitting, be it Lester, Beckett or whoevas. Rangers staff can have problems, too, though Wilson has been superb and the lefties Holland and Harrison may hold their own. I'm thinking maybe overs with Lewis vs any non-Lester go'er. Ogando likely will be used long-relief, which sure doesn't hurt the Rangers chances. Bullpens not too far apart--slight edge 'sox--and both can be very erratic. I think the Rangers would advance, here, though I'd like to see the matchups. Pretty amazing home-field record for Tex, currently at 52-29 (matches the Yanks and Phils, with only the Brewers better at 55-23).

NLDS 1
Phil vs ariz(maybe)
---Phils finally won that 99th, after dropping 8 straight, including 2 doubleheaders to Mets and wash. Pence and Howard not at 100% which makes things more interesting, not to mention Utley not being a serious threat, maybe due to earlier injuries. Staff still looks outstanding despite Doc being relegated to a likely 3rd or 4th place in the Cy works. I don't think I'll be fading Lee before next season. Hamels has been a little erratic but has usually been a solid playoff competitor. Oswalt's been off, lately, and I'd prefer Worley if a 4th SP was needed, which isn't likely 1st series. Phils' BP is solid, including closer Madson (even Lidge surprisngly effective in the setup role). d'backs Kennedy will be tough to back, barring a Lee-matchup, and while Hudson looks to be a top-tier B-grade SP, I wouldn't like him facing Doc, especially at Citizens Bank (he's actually had no starts there, yet). Saunders has greatly improved from his early season stuggles but backing him seems as appealing as an expatriotion to Saudi Arabia. Collmenter is a C-grade pitcher and lefty Miley needs more experience but should make the roster for long relief. d'backs BP is much better than in years past but still doesn't match the Phils. Series would look like a no-brainer pre-current-Phils swoon. Get the bodies healthy and, with the home-field, I think the Phils advance. If Philly faces the brewers then they will seriously need to take their home games. Greinke has been less than stellar on the road he could beat any non-Lee or Doc matchup. Gallardo, also, prefers home (as does the whole team) and Marcum is a top-notch B-grade pitcher who was on the serious end of a losing side in a recent matchup with former teammate Doc. brew's O totally revolves around Braun and Fielder and methinks the Phils would work around that notion. Phils should advance either way though brews would be more intoxicating.

NLDS 2
Mil vs atl (if it be)
---braves just hanging on in front of cards, currently, and appear likely headed to Miller for that series. Brewers should be fine, here, assuming key bats stay healthy. Hudson and the stellar BP would be my only pauses for concern though Hudson likely matches up with a Brew stud, and at home. If D'Backs host braves then I'm unsure what will transpire. D'Backs O is a total hit-or-miss; not the greatest O, really, but they do well at home, which isn't surprising considering the hitter's ballpark that Chase Field is. I think atl at dog-money for series (though it wouldn't be high) would be tempting. atl's BP is the best thing they have going for them entering the playoffs (assuming that they do enter the playoffs).

Need to wait and see the matchups.
Just getting psyched up for same.
