After unveiling its newest horse-racing software and announcing its partnership with the Brother Derek team at the Kentucky Derby, online gaming giant Bodog.com announced today another partnership with four new jockeys, each of whom will be competing in Saturday's Preakness Stakes.

This marks another first for Bodog.com, as the site is now the first ever online gaming site to sponsor four jockeys in a triple crown event.

Bodog.com has teamed with:
* Ramon Dominguez (DIABOLICAL)
* Kent Desormeaux (SWEETNORTHERNSAINT)
* Garrett Gomez (LIKE NOW)
* Jeremy Rose (HEMINGWAY'S KEY)
Each of the jockeys will be wearing Bodog.com-branded gear as they race.

"The Preakness Stakes has served as a test of a champion. Lots can happen, any horse can w?n, so the stakes are high and it's a reason why people are interested in betting on the race," says Calvin Ayre, Bodog.com Founder and CEO.

After witnessing a record day of wagering on the Kentucky Derby, the Bodog.com Racebook is preparing for another wave of bets as the Preakness nears and the excitement surrounding Barbaro builds.

No undefeated Kentucky Derby w?nner has ever lost the Preakness Stakes. Barbaro, who is listed as an even-money favorite by the Bodog.com Racebook, will seek to extend that streak to seven at Pimlico.

At Churchill Downs, Barbaro beat 17 horses with ease to improve to 6-0. Only eight stand in his way as he aims to capture the second leg of horse-racing's Triple Crown in Baltimore. The smallest field since 2000 also includes only two other entrants - Brother Derek and Sweetnorthernsaint - who ran in the Derby on May 6.

Along with odds on the race, Bodog.com is also offering a variety of proposition wagers, which include whether Barbaro indeed will become the first Triple Crown w?nner since Affirmed in 1978. A $100 "yes" wager will earn a payoff of $185 if Barbaro w?ns the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes on June 10.

Does anyone wonder about whether this form of advertising in the US is just adding more fuel to the fire? Maybe I need to brush up on the legalities of online gaming. I know there have been many pushes to outlaw online gaming that have been unsuccessful or are still in baby limbo. I really could see some congressman watching the race, notice the bodog.com ads, and possibly make a stronger push to regulate online gaming. Now this is just my elementary train of thought. Really, do you think high ranking politicians like it when they see Kent Desormeaux's silks promoting on offshore book? The same with Sportsbook.com promoting boxing fights. I think it's a double edged sword since it's really an effective way of advertising, but at the same time I think I brings more heat towards that specific book. I'm aware that the licenses are in other countries and there is only so much that US lawmakers could do. I just find it hard to believe that within the next 10 years things will be the same. Hopefully for all of us it will, but I have my reservations. Everyone's thoughts are appreciated. You have to hand it to that Calvin Arye, or whatever his name is, he's like the online gambling Deon Sanders. In Magazines, own TV poker shows, etc.

Online gambling is illegal. Online gambling advertising is not. Go figure.
1/ There currently are no enforcement laws for specific types of gambling(IRS will take care of that one)
2/ The feds are more interested in the Principals involved. There are federal RICO warrants for most P's&E's in Countries with no extradition treaties.
3/ With 12 Billion annually wagered by US citizens, the risk/reward window is worth sticking your head under.

Vanished into vortex
Politicians are all assholes and when they attack a "Crime" such as this they are just trying to make a name for themselves. All politicians should die, plain and simple.

The nice thing about this is gambling/organized crime will ALWAYS be bigger than even the US gov't, fukc em.
