Quite simply, this man is an embarrassment to our country - and should not be allowed to represent us anywhere. I think this scenario probably best describes just how stupid this man really is.

President George Bush: 'Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter'
By Robert Winnett, Deputy Political Editor and Urmee Khan
Last Updated: 7:52AM BST 10/07/2008

George Bush surprised world leaders with a joke about his poor record on the environment as he left the G8 summit in Japan.

The American leader, who has been condemned throughout his presidency for failing to tackle climate change, ended a private meeting with the words: "Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter."

He then punched the air while grinning widely, as the rest of those present including Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock.

Mr Bush, whose second and final term as President ends at the end of the year, then left the meeting at the Windsor Hotel in Hokkaido where the leaders of the world's richest nations had been discussing new targets to cut carbon emissions.

One official who witnessed the extraordinary scene said afterwards: "Everyone was very surprised that he was making a joke about America's record on pollution."

Mr Bush also faced criticism at the summit after Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian Prime Minister, was described in the White House press pack given to journalists as one of the "most controversial leaders in the history of a country known for government corruption and vice".

The White House apologised for what it called "sloppy work" and said an official had simply lifted the characterisation from the internet without reading it.

Concluding the three-day event, leaders from the G8 and developing countries proclaimed a "shared vision" on climate change. However, they failed to bridge differences between rich and emerging nations on curbing emissions.

Ahh the clown who represents us on the world stage . What he is really laughing at is the money he made a select few while sticking up the rest of the country's ass.

60 some year old immature frat boy. Talk about furthering the sterotype that Texans are a bunch of arrogant, dumb, cowboys. This guy is a poster child. Good going those 59 million of you who voted for him. Smart choice. You gotta be so proud.

But then again we have the psycho Cheney calling all the shots don't we. Bush is just the front man for this administration putting on a good face for America. And the House impeached Clinton while these two remain in power. God is this country over or what.

waaa, waaa... I think it's pretty funny and a clever shot at the global warming chicken little crowd. Maybe Bush was the more clever one this time and the humor went over the other suits' heads?

Here's what the G8 decided to do about global waming... "On the topic of global warming, the G8 leaders agreed on the need for the world to cut carbon emissions blamed for global warming by at least 50 percent by 2050." That's really putting your foot down, G8! Chicken Little can't be too happy with that stern resolution! :142smilie Why should't GWB make a funny comment when a do-nothing resolution like this is made??

The other big "resolution" was to throw more money at Africa. What a joke... 5 billion, 50 billion, whatever... Throwing money at Africa is not going to work. It's not a lost cause, but indiscriminate aid in the form of USD is a bandaid that won't stick.

Bush's brain is burnt out from all the drugs he took. Bush has 5 full months left in office, let's enjoy them.

Well, he never has been one to:

a: Be correct about the facts
b: Say what he means
c: Know what to say
d. All of the above

It takes a special man to be able to say something that ticks off most of the world leaders in principle, and then turns out to be taking credit where it isn't due from another super power...:142smilie

Well done, dumb-arse! :thumb:

Bush has been on a roll over the last few months basically "killing himself" with comments. Guess it's his version of "You won't have me to kick around anymore". He's letting it all hang out.

too bad he's not actually funny

Probably been discussed here a while back so I won't go on...but pretty interesting stuff.
(Although, none of it all that surprising unfortunately. :nono: )

Indeed - especially as a Californian resident. Twice now, our state has made progressive attempts to legislate more efficient vehicles for ourselves - only to be sued by oil/auto and a Republican executive branch, denying us our right to create a better quality of life for ourselves. ...Oh well.

Sued even by the Federal government, if I'm correct, smurphy...
...headed (termed as loosely as possible!) by a couple of men recently who are where they are due to oil.

Amazing isn't it...well, not so much as frightening really.
