Obama plans to send 4,000 more U.S. troops to train the army, along with hundreds of civilian personnel to improve the Afghan government's delivery of basic services. The force will be in addition to the 17,000 combat troops Obama has already ordered sent to Afghanistan ahead of elections in August.

The 17,000 will reinforce 38,000 U.S. troops and 32,000 from some 40 NATO allies and other nations in Afghanistan.

The new strategy also calls for the United States to reach out to Afghanistan's neighbors, including U.S. foe Iran, step up military and economic aid for Pakistan, and ask NATO to send more troops for the election and to train the army and police.

Britain said it was ready to dispatch more troops, while other European Union countries welcomed the new U.S. plans and held out the prospect of more aid and doing more training.

32,000 NATO troops

So Obama has the US fighting with NATO troops in these numbers ?

when did war mongers Bush and Cheney ever get any fawking support from NATO in Iraq ?

Obama

Change we can believe in !

DUH excuse me--surely your not expecting anyone Gumby got the 32,000 NATO troops--believe you can give credit to those war mongers your dissing?

Were you really not aware of that--did you think when he got in office he reached out his hand and they miraculously appeared. :)

Now on your change--heres the change I've seen on since Gumby got elected on war.

He wanted to retreat -couldn't win--surge won;t work in Iraq.

Now states Afgan war is much harder to win than Iraq--and now promotes surge and we have win in afgan.

Only change I see --is him changing his mind on every principal he ran on --

-Campaign Fianace reform
-No more pork/earmarks
-cut gov spending
-reduce national debt
-Nafta
--iraq troop withdrawals
--no lobbyist in cabinet
--just to name a few

Now for the $64,000 question to liberals--

- since he did about face on all of these--which change did you believe in--those he ran on or those he flopped on.

--only one answer--does make any diff--what ever Koolaid he pours tomorrow--that will be the liberal flavor of the day. :)

I think its quite rude to call the President of the US Gumby.

you should have a signifigant amount of respect for the office for that.

I think the changes have been easily discernable

no vacations
safe from terrorists
tax the really rich until it hurts
pull out of Iraq
green energy now
healthcare changes
education for our children
roadwork and bridges
intelligence and thoughtful ideas
meeting with other countries instead of bombing them
smart people around him
no stupid fumbling word games
fair and consistant
someone to look up to
actually cares about the American people
works more hours in a week than Bush in 2 mths
picks winners in NCAA

do I need to go on ?

Nope I'd say your reasons speak for most liberals:)

---and I also assume your passing on those areas asked--

--as well as other obie backers (kinda of like the experience /qualifications question pre election) ;)

Fact of the matter--your true confidence in Gumby showed when you bailed on your 401K after his election.

I didnt bail on our 401 ks I bailed on stocks. But I kept a few that I think will come back strong.

I even added to them in the last week.

DTB - the election is over. How many politicians keep their promises after the election. You think Hillary would have ? you think Palin would have ?

Come on. Things change that keep a President from doing some things he wanted to do.

Alot of it is pure politics anyway. Tell them what they want to hear.

Get over it . Lets move forward . Put that bitterness crap behind us. I may even get you into the white house for a good soul food meal for you and the misses.

Six Five is talking about us meeting up in Bowling Green , getting smashed and doing some turkey hunting.

Lets just let bygones be bygones. OK Friend ?

I won,t go hunting with any of you. But I,ll go chasing woman.
AS for Obama,s job so far. Who cares. Lets see in8 to 12 months what,s happening. I say that because there,s not much to go on yet. I mean 2 months hardly lets any programs even begin to show anything.
