I seem to lose when I do these writeups but hell, I'm gonna try again and hope for best.
No lines for me yet so I'm not going to post any lines or units bet until later tonight before games start.
** My picks may change based on what lines I get tonight. Many close matches and lots of ties so far this season. Hate to spot anything on the puckline right now and anything +1.5 definitely warrants a look at.
Anaheim vs LA Under5 +105 1unit
We get the Ducks playing back to back tonight after tying the Bruins last nite. Should be a bit fatigued here after the overtime game and then having to travel to LA..
Most obvious thing in this matchup is the lack of offense on both teams. Ducks have avg'd 2 goals/game while Kings aren't much better at 2.33goals/game. Only thing I'm concerned with is whether or not Shields will be in net for the Ducks or not. B2B and he got shelled with 41shots last nite, he's also started every game except one so far this season. The one game that Giguere started for the Ducks, he let in 3 goals (2 PP).
Toronto vs Vancouver Tor PK Even 2units
Toronto has always fared well on this west coast roadtrip where they play the 3 Canadian teams from the west. Won in Edmonton already and I'm betting they don't lose both remaining games of this trip to the Canucks and Flames. If Leafs lose tonight, I'm doubling up against the Flames.
Canucks also lose alot without their top right winger in Bertuzzi (lost to suspension for leaving bench during fight). His intentions were admirable as he did so to save his good buddy Jovanoski from getting his ass pummelled. Canucks may rise to the occasion here cuz of team morale, but I think the loss of Bertuzzi far outweighs any team chemistry they get from this.
As much as everyone is dogging the Leafs defense this year, they shots on goal tell a different story. Very impressive 107 shots against in last 5 games (that's avg 21.7). The offense has been rolling all year round so let's hope it stays that way.
Carolina vs NYI Under5.5 +110 1unit
Definite trend to the under in this matchup. I don't have the numbers on me as I can't get to Covers.com for some reason. Last night's game in this home and home series also went under.
Islanders special teams clicking as they killed 7 penalties last nite. Osgood playing great for the Isles so far.
