Poor quality field it has to be said with the WGC happening this week.

Sung-Joon Park 50/1 pick of the bunch for me - every winner of this has been 50/1 or longer in the past and his 2nd at PGA West a few weeks back is just about the best form on show.

Best of luck all!

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
Puerto Rico:

Last week was my worst event ever, with 5 players out of 5 missing the cut at Honda. Will the streak reach 9, before I'm saved by the no cut WGC event?

Vaughn Taylor(28/1) e.w.
Spencer Levin(50/1) e.w.
John Rollins(125/1) e.w.
Matt Bettencourt(250/1) e.w.

Round 2 plays (4pts unless stated):

Jonathan Byrd to beat Jason Gore -120 @ 5Dimes [4pts]
With top-15 finishes in both of his previous visits to Trump International, Byrd looks capable to building on his current 5th place position. Gore couldn't match Byrd's score yesterday, but with four missed cuts in five starts this year, there will certainly be increased pressure on him today. Given that he ranked lower than Byrd yesterday in driving distance, driving accurcy, greens in regulation and scrambling, his overall play looks likely to stand up to the pressure today.

Jon Curran to beat Scott Pinckney -120 @ 5Dimes
Two more players in 5th place, and this is the 3rd time that Pinckney has finished rd1 inside the top-5. His previous history suggests that he will not stay there: in last year's Sanderson Farms Championship, he missed the cut from this position; in this year's Humana Challenge, he dropped further fown the leaderboard with every subsequent round. Curran already has a top-10 finish this year and should be more comfortable in this position.

Fabian Gomez to beat Andrew Loupe -120 @ 5Dimes
With finishes of 19th, 7th and 2nd at Trump International, Gomez is a course specialist and should be expected to bounce back from an opening round that sees him only just inside the cut line. Loupe's best finish of the season is 60th, so looks less likely of making a significant move in rd2.

Round 3 play (2pts):

Guy Boros to beat John Daly +138 @ Coral and Boyle Sports [available generally]
Worth a punt at this price to oppose Daly who lies 11th after rd2. The last time that he started the weekend inside the top-20 of a PGA Tour was the 2012 Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital Open - he shot 86-77 over the weekend to finish 71st. He has been in this position twice since that event, both on the European Tour, and on those occasions he shot 78-73 (2013 BMW Masters, finished 48th), 77-73 (2014 Qatar Masters, finished 61st). Admittedly, I don't expect Champions Tour player, Boros, to stay inside the top-15, but at least his play warrants that position - he currently ranks 12th in greens in regulation; Daly ranks 64th.
