DELIVERY Fees are just that to help cover insurance and other cost to the restuarnt

IT IS NOT a TIP Many places DO NOT GIVE DRIVERS that $1 or $2.50 fee YOU see.

WE are the grunts of the delivery industry we get to help open up and close mop sweep do dishes etc.... all for mini pay of $4 in local food mom n pop stores max they pay is $5 an hour and fucking charge us for to eat food ,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Tip should be 15% of order minimum $1.50

cost is about .57 a mile on gas thrifty cars that means both ways yhey have to return from your place so that 2 X the cost $1.14

Damn Scrap, the gas thrifty cars are only getting 3-4 miles per gallon? Gas here in Atlanta is $1.86 per gallon most places today. Do you drive tanks for delivery?

He's off, but not by much in reality. Gov't rate for mileage is currently .54/mile taking into consideration gas, wear and tear on vehicle and depreciation of the vehicle due to mileage. I get compensated for mileage where I work and honestly don't think that number is break even all things considered.

At 100,000 miles most vehicles don't have much of their resale value left. They still have value as a serviceable vehicle but not much retail value. If 75% of the mile you drive are for work/compensated you would have $40,500 in mileage checks.

If you paid $25,000 for a cheap car, got 25 miles/gallon you spent $8720 on gas (AAA says national average is $2.18, it's $2.45 here), insured it for $100/month that's $4800. You have roughly $2000 left for oil, tires, inspections, etc... assuming you paid cash for the car or got a 0% loan and it doesn't break down it's still a thin line.

They don't deliver where I live (out in the boonies) so why do the Pizza Joints have a tip jar by the register when I have to drive and pick it up......

Penguin Fan and others maybe different rates about mileage and stuff but i saw when i was working wit grub hub and other company dining in we were allowed to write off .57 per mile plus other costs

especially with them they are not restaurants there is no food there so we had to buy food when working plus parking fees .50 up to $2 sometimes cause orders were backed up

MY car gets about 15 mpg in city 40 mpg hiway i swear it's 5 speed auto with cruise i drive at 72 mph when on I 95 and the AC expressway and still i have people pass me like i'm doing 60 mph

:mj07:

And if your driving a large SUV or other type3 large engine vehicle you aint getting 15 mpg in city with ac on and all them other toys running

gigglz yea i know sports fan like what special service do they give you at pick up.

I know the mom n pop places do not pay $8 n hour to counter help but all franchises do.

Today i start at Pizza Hut BUT wasnt my best choice cause here we do the dirty work also

unless so busy we cannot do dishes or evem sweep up during shifts

Still keeping eyes and ears open for local non franchise pizzerias or full service restaurants

one i found out might take me in soon as fall starts and drivers there f/t he says make up to $1000 a week Still there i'm on the books at $5 per hr as independent contractor

I'll ask if i can do it off the books at $4 per hour

Since I got my new job he has to fend for himself for lunch now. The local pizza/sub shop had always delivered to the garage even for $5 wings. He always tips. The other day he ordered and they said they didn't deliver that far for less than $20. It's only 2 miles away......
