Being the perpetually single guy that I am, I am on a couple of dating sites. Music is my passion, so there's no way that I could get involved with a chick that doesn't appreciate music. She doesn't have to dig everything that I do, but she has to be passionate about music in general.

Once I have communicated a few times and she seems as if she has potential I ask her this question:

You're to be stranded on a deserted island for the remainder of your days. What one album do you bring with you? (Before anyone goes there; yes the island has electricity.)

It has eliminated many an early contender with a real shitty pick. I have also gotten picks that I would never have imagined that blew me away.

The moral of this rambling mess is that when they turn around an ask me the same thing, I say "Pyromania".........It's definitely not the BEST album of all-time, but it has so many tracks that got air play and for a hair metal band their harmonies are like none other ( in the hair metal arena ) of course CSNY and The Eagles lead the way otherwise. Every time any song from that album comes on teh radio I reach over and bump the volume up a couple of notches. It never gets old.

So I am with you my north of the border friend. Def Leppard Pyromania it is!

Album was okay. Nothing special. Good for its time but it was completely outclassed just two short months later when arguably the best album of the 80's and always a contender next to the illusions for best album of all time was released.

I like Def Leppard and Quiet Riot, both great albums, but if the conversation is going in the direction of the best album of the 80's then let's all get hold of ourselves:

I'm not even sure that there is a Guns N Roses without Def Leppard....At lead that's what Tracii Guns said.

google Hanoi Rocks influence to Guns n roses. Members of Hanoi rocks appear several GnR videos and front man Michael Monroe plays harmonica in UYI "Bad obsession" (and this doesn't take anything away from DL's influence on GnR )

tested my new headphones and just happened to listen
Appetite yesterday, damn it is still good, damn.

Def Leppard good, but certainly not the best. Def Leppard was a chick band.

Bring on Appetite and Metallica if u want to talk about the best.

Here's a Def Leppard lyric that made me kind of hate them for a while although I will always love Pyromania.

"Don't call me Romeo, don't call me Casanova
Just call me on the phone, and baby come on ova"

Make Love Like a Man. Probably one of the worst songs of all time from all perspectives.

You've been saying this for 15 years. Stop listening to the stupid song.

You wanna keep the peace in a band for 40 years, sometimes you let the guitarists lyrics get in the album.
