I know Scott has won back to back here, but that has to be a long flight from Hawaii back to the Middle East so I am going to fade him and Boo in this tourney

Garcia -125 ov Scott 72 holes
Baddeley -115 ov Boo 72 holes

Exactly, good looking out Scott's travel schedule sounded ridiculous. Said he was getting in Tuesday at midnight/

Sergio -125 over Scott (First Round)
Schwartzel -120 over Rose 72 holes
Finch -105 over Campbell

Try it again: Says his shoulder is torn and he is gonna have to take short swings with possibly no driver or 3 woods.

I had the same theory on Immelman last week and had Schwartzel played, I think would have delivered but somehow Immelman got there for Tuesday morning so maybe word of caution on the plays.

Edfors, Schwartzel and Francesco Molinari for me at 35/1, 50/1 and 70/1 respectively - was on Edfors at 40/1 last night but proof current avail on here.

Round 1 plays (1pt):

Charl Schwartzel to beat Justin Rose -120 @ Five Dimes [also available at SkyBet]
4th in the Joburg Open two weeks ago, 9th in the Africa Open last week and 3rd in this event last year, Schwartzel looks better than the 50/1 currently on offer for him to win this event. He really should beat Rose who struggled with his game last year and missed the cut in all three previous visits to Doha.

Anders Hansen to beat Darren Clarke -105 @ Pinnacle
Clarke did finish 2nd in the Africa Open last week, but he had failed to finish in the top-10 in any of his last 11 events and his last top-10 here was back in 1998; when he last played in here in 2007 only four people finished behind him so he should be worth opposing. Hansen, by contrast, has made the cut here in seven of eight attempts (missing by one on other occasion) and has finished 1st and 15th in the last two weeks.

Jeev Milkha Singh to beat Darren Clarke -110 @ The Greek
Singh won two events (in Asia and Japan) over the off-season and has continued that form into the season if you discount his first round last week. He has good form here and I can't see him finishing outside the top-20.

Richard Finch to beat Michael Campbell -105 @ Five Dimes
No-brainer play. Campbell had been slowly recovering from a right shoulder injury since July last year when he tore a muscle around the rotator cuff of the same shoulder last week and withdrew after 4 holes of the 2nd round. He is confident of playing this week after shortening his swing, but this will cause problems with the driver. Even if fully fit, he would struggle to beat Finch who was 6th in the South African Open and 4th here in 2006, so I can't understand how Five Dimes can make Cambo the favourite.

On these 2 with ya. I have no idea how Finch is the underdog, nor do i have any idea how that line hasnt moved yet. Even if healthy i might take a small tab at finch.

Good luck to us :toast:

Ill post them so it might help my record

Schwartzel -120 over Rose 72 holes

Michael Campbell intends taking his place in this week?s Qatar Masters after his shoulder caused no real concern during Wednesday's the Pro-Am on the Doha Golf Club course in Doha.

Campbell led his CNN sponsored team to 31st place in the traditional tournament warm-up event with a team score of 64 and eight strokes behind South African Retief Goosen?s winning team.

Goosen arrived in Doha having captured last week?s African Open whilst he is also a former Qatar Masters champion.
Campbell stuck with his shortened swing off the tee and feels he should now be able to hopefully play four rounds.

?My shoulder was a little sore this morning but if seemed to pull up okay in the pro-am so I?m confident it should be right for the tournament,? said Campbell.

Campbell will tee up in the event proper alongside Scotland?s Colin Montgomerie and Northern Ireland teenager Rory McIlroy.

It is the second week in a row Campbell has been grouped with the 19-year old McIlroy.

Latest update from Mike

However his clubs failed to follow him on the 22 hour trip, meaning he was unable to take part in the pro-am, and he was hoping they would arrive before tee-off time.

"I walked the course, it's in great condition, a little more lush than last year but it was nice to get out there again," Scott, 28, said.

Outrights:

Rory McIlroy(20/1) e.w.

Oliver Wilson(66/1) e.w.

Pelle Edberg(225/1) e.w.

Matchups:

Edberg(-105) over Fasth (Tournament)

Casey(+136) over Weekley/Rose (Thursday)

After I took a potshot at McIlroy's wild popularity last week, I'm stuck here thinking this just might be his week, after he showed me on Sunday exactly what I was looking to see after "nothing worked out" on Saturday. While my instincts would normally have me siding with Casey this week, as I'm firmly in the camp that believes he goes streaky good on a par with the likes of Rory Sabbatini, I've just got this feeling that this week is a bridge too far, so Casey's price doesn't tempt . . . Ryder Cupper Wilson is all business and in fine fettle, and a gathering which includes some fixtures from the American PGA Tour should be right up his street, given his manifest goals http://www.oliver-wilson.com/180109.htm . . . Edberg is another that has enough swagger to be undervalued in this company, IMO . . . I certainly think the Doha track rewards fearless driving and confident putting, and all 3 of my selections are capable of finding that slot . . . All I can realistically ask is that one of these names keeps my interest on Sunday afternoon . . . I'll call them My Three Hunches.

Good start chief. :mj06: Nothing like voyaging over to the european tour! Glad to see that some of the big names are coming over as well to help it out.

By the way another 30+ putting round for Ernie. Guy was second last week in GIR's and like dead last in putting.
